The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the loving care of the staff of Thomond Lodge nursing home and his medical team on Sunday, September 22, 2024 of Michael (Tot) Duignan Kenagh village, Co Longford.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Anne, sons Adrian and Raymond, grandchildren Carl, Shanley, Jordan, Raymond, Willie, Shannon and Hollyanne. Great grandchildren Frankie and Tiffany Rose, Daughters-in-law, his brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in St Dominic's Church Kenagh on Tuesday evening, September 24 from 5pm until 7pm, with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 25 at 12 noon in St Dominic's followed by burial in Shrule Cemetery. House strictly private please.

Patrick (Pat) Brady, White Linen Woods, Longford Town, Co Longford

The death occurred  peacefully on Saturday September 21, 2024  of Patrick (Pat) Brady, White Linen Woods, Longford town and formerly of Smear, Aughnacliffe, Co.Longford. 

Predeceased by his father Michael. Pat will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved mother Anna, sisters Mary Rynn (Carrick-on-Shannon), Pauline Hannon (Boyle) and Eileen Doohan (North Carolina), brothers Peter (New York) and Frank (New York), uncle William Kiernan (Carrigallen), sister-in-law Luisa, brothers-in-law Tommy, Kieran and Sean, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee road (N39 EC81) on Wednesday, September 25 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, September 26 in St Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe at 11am. Cremation will take place afterwards in Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan at 1.30pm. Family flowers only please donations if desired to Longford Hospice, c/o Glennon Funeral Directors or any family member.

Edward (Eddie) Leavy, Northyard, Scramogue, Roscommon / Lanesboro, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, at Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 22, 2024 of Edward (Eddie) Leavy, Northyard, Scramogue, Co Roscommon, formerly of Main Street, Lanesboro, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents James and Bridget, his sister Anne Matthews and brother Fr. James. Devoted husband of Bridie (née Feeney), beloved father of Enda, Kevin, Eamonn and Deirdre. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Molly, Darragh and Aoibhinn, brothers Larry and Pat, sisters Mary McGowan (New Jersey) and Breda O'Loughlin (Kilkenny), his children's spouses and partner Colette, Christina and David, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home at Northyard (F42 W898) on Wednesday, September 25 from 4pm until 8pm. (Please note, there will be a 10-15 minute break at 6pm for the family). Removal on Thursday morning, September 26 arriving at St Anne's Church, Scramogue for Requiem Mass at noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Elizabeth (Emma) Rogers (née Kenny), Multyfarnham, Westmeath / Moatefarrell, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in her 91st year at Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham on Monday, September 23, 2024 of Elizabeth (Emma) Rogers (Née Kenny), Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath and formerly Moatefarrell, Co Longford.

Beloved wife of the late Peter (Currygranne, Ballinalee) and sister of the late Joe. Dear mother of Josephine and Teresa and cherished grandmother of Emily, Hannah and Aileen; Emma will be very sadly missed and forever remembered by her family, sons-in-law Milly and Nigel, sisters Brenda and Sylvia, sister-in-law Patsy (Kenny), brothers-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Reposing at Portiuncula Nursing Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 24 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 25 in St Nicholas’ Church, Multyfarnham at 11am followed by burial in St Peter’s The Rock Cemetery.

Teresa Nugent (née Geraghty), Newlands, Mullingar, Westmeath and formerly of Ballymahon, Co Longford

The death occurred in her 92nd year, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Sunday, September 22, 2024 of Teresa Nugent, Newlands, Mullingar, and formerly of Ballymahon, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick (Podge). Deeply missed and forever remembered by her daughter Colette, granddaughter Siobhán, son-in-law Ian, relatives, neighbours and friends. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 22, 2024 (June 6, 1941 - September 22, 2024) of Michael McGivney, Crenew Lane, Kilnaleck, Co Cavan.  

Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Maggie, sisters Madge McGivney and Noreen McElchar, brothers-in-law Charlie Fleming and Tony McElchar. Michael will be sadly missed by his sister Rose Fleming (Drumlion, Ballinagh), his many nieces and nephews, the extended McGivney and Cahill Families, his wonderful neighbours and friends. Reposing at Briody's Funeral Home Kilnaleck on Monday evening, September 23 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Tuesday, September 24 from his sister Rose's home (Drumlion) to St Joseph's Church, Drumkilly arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. The death occurred on Saturday, September 21, 2024 of Mrs Pheobie Smyth (née Stewart), Graigue Lower, Killenaule, Co Tipperary (and formerly of Mohill, Co Leitrim).  Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bobby), sister Jenny, brother George and grandson John. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Ruby, sons Robert, Raymond, Mervyn, Brendan and Geoffrey. Pheobie's Funeral Service will take place in St Mary's Church of Ireland, Littleton, on Wednesday, September 25 at 11am with burial afterwards in the Old Graveyard, River Street, Killenaule. The death occurred on Sunday, September 22, 2024 of John C Bird, Mooretown, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and formerly Kinnegad, Navan and Summerhill, Co Meath.

Predeceased by his wife Ann and baby daughter Janice. Much loved father of Carol and Katie. Devoted granddad of Evan, James, Lily & Josh and great granddad of Shay. The death occurred peacefully in his 96th year in St Vincent’s University Hospital with his family by his side on Friday, September 20, 2024 of Raymond Gearty, Mount Merrion and formerly of Strokestown and Rooskey, Co Roscommon.

Beloved husband of Sheila and adored father of Paula, Jeana and Catherine. He will be deeply missed and remembered by his family, sons-in-law Neil, Declan and Alan, Poppy Ray to his much loved grandchildren Kate, Oliver and Ben, George and Seamus, Cara and Maia, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Fanagan's Funeral Home, Dundrum on Tuesday evening, September 24 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning, September 25 to the Church of St Thérèse, Mount Merrion for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

Sylvia Mulvey (née McHugh), Aughagrania, Drumshanbo, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in the caring hands of the North West Hospice, Sligo, surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 22, 2024 of Sylvia Mulvey (née McHugh), Aughagrania, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim.

Daughter of the late Francis Joseph and Brigid McHugh (Attymanus). Predeceased by her loving husband Cyril, her treasured son Colm, her cherished grand-daughter Isla, and her beloved sister Marie McNally (Newbridge). Sylvia will be greatly missed by her sons and daughters Ronan, Odette, Fergus, Gráinne, Emer and Tadhg. Fondly remembered by her sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, Dáire, Colin, Gerry, MaryAnn and Michelle. Adored Granny to Niamh and Justin, Ciara and Seán, Ava and Edie, Ciarán, Leah and Rían, Donnacha, Maia, Faolán, and Rhea. Forever missed by her brother Padraig McHugh. Sadly missed by all her nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.
