David Curtin, CEO of .ie, said a website remains the 'prime digital real estate' for any business
Longford businesses have continued their momentum with over 1,700 local firms with .ie domains, and 276 new registrations in 2025, according to new figures.
At county level, Longford recorded continued uptake, underlining the importance of trusted digital infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises.
There were a total of 1,742 Longford firms with .ie domains in 2025, while nationally the figure reached 332,984, up 2% year-on-year.
David Curtin, CEO of .ie, said a website remains the 'prime digital real estate' for any business.
“With over 333,000 .ie domains now registered and new registrations continuing to grow, Irish businesses are clearly choosing trusted, .ie web addresses as the foundation of their online presence.”
The .ie Domain Snapshot also reveals that construction continues to lead growth across the .ie database, increasing by 4.2% year-on-year to 12,861 domains nationally, followed by Utilities (up 3.5%) and Information and Communication (up 2.9%).
Other sectors showing sustained growth and adoption of a .ie address include Arts, Entertainment and Recreation (up 2.4%) and Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities (up 2%).
