Philip Duffy, Aughadowery - Glenmore, Ballinamuck, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 8, 2026 of Philip Duffy, Aughadowery - Glenmore, Ballinamuck, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his wife Katie and parents Tom and Margaret. Philip will be sadly missed by his family, sons Thomas and Philip-Oliver, daughters Marie (Curwin) and Margaret, daughter-in-law Catherine, sons-in-law Brendan Curwin and Sean Browne, his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Rest in Peace Philip.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford (N39KN66) on Tuesday, February 10 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 11 in St Colmcille's Church, Aughnacliffe at 11am. Following Mass, Philip will be laid to rest in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. Please Note: Family home is strictly private.

Yvonne Gallagher, Carrickboy, Longford / Dublin

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family at St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown on Friday, February 6, 2026 of Yvonne Gallagher, Carrickboy, Longford and formerly of Church Street, Dublin. 

Sadly missed by her loving brothers Bernard and Brendan, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her brother Richard and sister Sheila.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Blanchardstown on Friday evening, February 13 from 6pm to 8pm. A celebration of Yvonne’s life will take place on Saturday afternoon, February 14 at 1.30pm in Glasnevin Crematorium which may also be viewed online (live only) by following this LINKFamily flowers only please. Maureen Lynch Loftus (née McEvoy), Dowdallshill, Dundalk, Louth / Lanesboro, Longford / Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in her 82nd year, surrounded by her loving family following an illness borne with dignity, strength and courage, in the care of her family at home on Monday, February 9, 2026 of Maureen Lynch Loftus (nee McEvoy) Dowdallshill, Dundalk, Co Louth/ Lanesboro, Co Longford/ Dublin.

Predeceased by her husbands Harry Lynch and Pat Loftus, her twin brother Gerard McEvoy and her parents Tom McEvoy and Rosaleen (née Tiernan). She will be sadly missed by her loving family, her children Henry, Jennifer, Pat and Tracey, her son-in-law Rasmus, sister-in-law Nora, her beloved grandsons Ronan and Erik, her step-sons Pat and Robert and their families, her life-long friend Margaret, extended family, relatives, neighbours and dear friends. May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing in the Eternity Room of Quinn's Funeral Homes, Bridge Street, Dundalk (A91 KW52, entrance on Castletown Road) on Tuesday, February 10 from 3pm-8pm and then privately at home on Wednesday, February 11 for family and close friends only. Removal on Thursday, February 12 at 10.40am, driving to St. Nicholas' Church (A91 FK19), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. After Mass, the cortège will proceed on foot to St. Patrick's Cemetery (A91 F598) for burial. House private on Wednesday and Thursday morning please. Family flowers only, please.

Donations in lieu if desired to the North Louth Hospice and Homecare Foundation HEREcollection box and envelopes at the Funeral Home. The family would like to sincerely thank the carers with Connected Health, Dr. Sean Grimes, the public health nurses, the palliative care team and all those who helped care for Maureen in her final chapter.

Anna McNally (née Doyle), Blackrock, Dublin / Moyne, Longford

The death occurred following a brief illness, peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 7, 2026 of Anna McNally (née Doyle), Blackrock, Co. Dublin, formerly of Moyne, Co. Longford. 

Beloved wife of the late Michael (Rene). Devoted mother to Niall and Diarmuid. Predeceased by her late brother Francis and parents Francis and Mary. Deeply regretted by her daughter-in-law Alison and grandchildren David and Patrick, extended family, neighbours and friends. May she Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Blackrock, A94 X308 on Thursday, February 12 from 5pm – 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 13 arriving at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock D18 N2F7, arriving at 9.40am for reception. Words of Appreciation will be given by the family prior to the commencement of the Funeral Mass at 10am, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Maureen McPartland (née Moran), Callowhill, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Sligo University Hospital & North West Hospice on Sunday, February 8, 2026 of Maureen McPartland (nee Moran) Callowhill, Ballinamore Co Leitrim and formerly of Clonard, Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Deeply loved and sadly missed by her husband Andrew & her loving children Clare (Mick), Roma (Shane), Garry (Rachael) & Emer (Andy) and by her adored grandchildren Ellie, Michael, Grace, Niamh, Donnacha, René, Killian, Liam & Niall. May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, (N41 TD62) on Monday evening, February 9 from 6pm until 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 10 at St Mary's Church, Aughnasheelin (N41 HR04) followed by burial in the new cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live HERE. Martin Kiernan, Lakeview House, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim

The death occurred at Lough Erril Private Nursing Home, Mohill, Co Leitrim on Friday, February 6, 2026 of Martin Kiernan, Lakeview House, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim and formerly of Keeldrabeg, Aughavas. 

Predeceased by his first wife, Anna Harte, his sisters Kathleen, Eleanor and brothers Seán and Joseph. Martin will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Evelyn (née Coffey) and son Joseph, daughter-in-law Joy and cherished grandson Martin, the extended Kiernan family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Martin will repose at Lough Erril Nursing Home on Monday, February 9 from 5pm until 7pm. Remains will arrive at St Joseph’s Church, Aughavas on Tuesday morning, February 10 for funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in Aughavas cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HEREHouse private to family and neighbours please.

Annie (Nancy) McGoohan, Bray, Wicklow / Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in her 95th year, at St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin on Friday, February 6, 2026 of Annie (Nancy) McGoohan, late of Bray, Co Wicklow and formerly of AIB, Donnybrook House, Dublin 4 and Ballinamore, Co Leitrim. 

Predeceased by her parents Katie and Murtagh and brother Murtie; she will be sadly missed by her nephew Farrell and by her friends Anne, together with the O’Brien family and Ena Costello. 

Reposing in Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray on Wednesday, February 11 from 4pm-6pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 12 at 10.30am in the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Putland Road, Bray followed by burial in Fenagh Abbey Cemetery, Ballinamore at approximately 3pm. May she rest in peace.

Mary O’Shaughnessy, Plunkett Road, Askeaton, Limerick / Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family in the wonderful care of Ballinamore Nursing Home, Co Leitrim on Saturday, February 7, 2026 of Mary O'Shaughnessy (nee Hegarty), Plunkett Road, Askeaton, Limerick and formerly of Drumquin, Co Tyrone.

Predeceased by her husband Bill and her brothers Willie John, Jimmy, Joe and Mickey and her sister Kathleen. Dearly loved mother of Catherine, Brian, John, Kevin and Maria. Sadly missed by her son-in-law Terry, daughter-in-law Coral and her adored grandchildren Róisín (James), Rónán, Aaron, Ella, Jack and Ava, her brother Pat and sisters-in-law Mary, Patricia and Mena, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. May she Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Kieran Madigan's Funeral Home, Main Street, Askeaton V94 K598 on Monday, February 9 from 6 to 7pm with removal to St Mary’s Church Askeaton for 7.30pm. Requiem Mass will take place in St Mary's Church, Askeaton on Tuesday, February 10 at 11am followed by burial in Reilig Mhuire Cemetery, Askeaton. The Requiem Mass will be live-streamed HERE.

Judy Pearse (née Orr), Delgany Wood, Delgany, Wicklow / Longford / Dublin

The death occurred at St Vincent's Hospital Elm Park on Monday, January 26, 2026 of Judy Pearse (née Orr) late of Delgany Wood, Delgany, Co Wicklow/ Longford/ Dublin. 

Predeceased by her beloved husband David, beautiful granddaughter Leah, dear brother David and her special cousin Sue. She will be sadly missed by her children Fiona, Shauna, Vanessa, Perrin and Garret, her sister Val, her many grandchildren, three sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, her brother-in-law, the extended family, neighbours and friends. A special word of thanks to the amazing staff in the Sugarloaf Care Centre, Kilmacanogue, who cared for Judy with compassion and kindness for the past fourteen months. 

A gathering to remember Judy will take place on Friday, February 20 at the Royal St George Yacht Club, Harbour Road, Dun Laoghaire commencing at 13.30. Friends and colleagues are warmly welcomed to attend and to share stories. Canapes and refreshments will be provided. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, can be made to Dogs Trust Ireland HERE, a charity really close to her heart. Donations in lieu of flowers to Dogs Trust in Memory of Judy Pearse (née Orr).

George Bryson, Manchester and Buckley, Wales, and late of Drumbess, Cornafean, Arva, Co Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Wrexham General Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 of George Samual Bryson, Manchester and Buckley, Wales and late of Drumbess, Cornafean, Arva, Co Cavan. 

Predeceased by his wife Florence and his sister Eva. Sadly missed by his sons John and David, daughters Karen and Sandra, son-in-law Mike, brothers Victor (Doreen), John (Susan), sister Frances (Noel), his adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends. The funeral will be held in Manchester at a later date.

"Safe in God's Keeping". He spent many happy visits holidaying with his special niece Lorna and the Hamilton and Good Families in Cornafean, Arva, Co Cavan.
