Martin Pugh, Abbeycartron Lane, Longford town, Co Longford / Ballyconnell, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at home, after a long illness bravely borne with great courage and determination on Monday, March 9, 2026 of Martin Pugh, Abbeycartron, Longford town and formerly of Templeport, Ballyconnell, Co Cavan (Ex. 4th Cav. Longford). 

Predeceased by his parents Teresa and George and by his parents-in-law Mary and best friend Josie. Martin will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend Anne, daughter Joanne, sons Terry and Adrian, sister Dolores, brother George, daughters-in-law Rachael and Trisha, son-in-law Brian, grandchildren Kyle, Ellie, Amber and Evan, brother-in-law Michael, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Wednesday, March 11 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, March 12 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, followed by Cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3pm. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HEREFamily flowers only please donations if desired to Longford Palliative Care, c/o Glennon Funeral Directors or any family member.

Geraldine Cafferty (née Gallagher), ‘Woodview’, Rathcline Road, Lanesboro, Co Longford / Foxrock, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff at Innis Ree Nursing Home, Ballyleague on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 of Geraldine Cafferty (née Gallagher), Woodview’, Rathcline Road, Lanesboro, Co Longford and formerly of Foxrock, Co. Dublin. 

Pre-deceased by her parents, Michael and Mamie, sisters Catherine and Mary and by loving niece Rose-Anna. Deeply regretted by her loving family, husband Frank, sons, Justin, Norman and Robert, beloved Grandson Dylan, daughter-in-law Suzanne, sisters Eileen Jennings and Anne Eivers, brother Johnny Gallagher, sisters-in-law Leonie and Anita. brother-in-law Frank, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Geraldine was an enthusiastic bridge player, an amateur artist, accomplished flower arranger and a passionate protector of local wildlife. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford (N39 EC81) on Friday, March 13 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, March 14 in St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro at 1pm, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium at 4pm.

Liam Boland, Ardnacassa, Dublin Road, Longford town, Co Longford / Clonmel, Tipperary

The death occurred peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026 of Liam Boland, Ardnacassa, Dublin Road, Longford town and formerly of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. 

Predeceased by his parents William and Rita, his beloved wife Mary, son Liam, sisters Marjorie and Valerie, brother Michael, brother-in-law Willie and by his son-in-law Peter. Liam will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughters Jean, Linda, Siobhán, Orla, Niamh and Eiméar, sons Stephen and Marcus, brothers Sean and Jim, daughters-in-law Kerry and Roisín, sons-in-law Mick, Kevin, Kieran and Mark, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home (Ardnacassa, Dublin Road – N39 X2W4) on Friday, March 13 from 5pm until 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, March 14 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Martina McNulty (née O’Rourke), Kenagh, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 1, 2026 of Martina McNulty (nee O’Rourke), Richmond, Surrey, UK and formerly of The Abbey, Kenagh, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her parents Jack and Maeve O’Rourke and her brothers Dermott and Donal. Martina will be deeply missed by her husband David and her children Sonya, Elisa, Natalie, Lucy and Tim, her siblings Pat and Maeve and her many grandchildren. Martina was a dearly beloved member of her family and will be much missed by many.

Martina will lie in repose at her home in Richmond from 6 to 8pm on Monday, March 23. Martina’s Funeral will be held at St. Elizabeth of Portugal Church at 11am on Tuesday, March 24.

Fr Robert Morrow, Beaghbeg, Carrigallen, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, at Little Sisters of the Poor Care Home, Manchester, in his 91st year, in the 67th year of his Sacred Priesthood on February 8, 2026 of Fr Robert (Robbie) Morrow, Beaghbeg, Carrigallen, Leitrim and Diocese of Salford, England. 

Predeceased by his sister Marie, his brother Joe and nephew Enda. Fr Robbie will be sadly missed by his sister Elizabeth, his brother Jimmy, his nieces and nephews, their spouses and partners, his extended family, and his many friends and parishioners across the Diocese of Salford, who will remember him with great affection and gratitude.

Ordained to the Priesthood on May 31, 1959 at St Kieran's College, Kilkenny, Fr Robbie served the Diocese of Salford with dedication for over 50 years, most notably as Parish Priest of St Joseph's, Bury (1985–2009). Rest In Peace. 

Fr Morrow's body will be received into Guardian Angels, Bury for concelebrated Mass at 7pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Bishop John at Guardian Angels, Bury on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 12 noon. Fr Morrow’s ashes will be returned to Ireland to be buried at St Mary’s Church, Carrigallen following mass there at 12 noon on Saturday, March 14.

Sarah Gilford (née Treacy), Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, UK / Elphin Street, Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred in Vale Court Care Home after a long illness bravely borne on Saturday, February 14, 2026 of Sarah Gilford (nee Treacy) Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, UK/ Elphin Street, Strokestown, Roscommon. 

She will be sadly missed by her sister Elizabeth, brothers Michael, Pat, Willie & Jimmy, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, great grand-nieces, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. Sarah is predeceased by her husband Peter, daughter Gemma Louise, parents Willie & Sarah, sister Marie O'Goan and by her brother-in-law Oliver Carroll. Rest In Peace.

Sarah's Funeral will take place on Tuesday, March 17 in St Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Hooton, Liverpool, at 1pm, followed by burial in Overpool Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held for Sarah in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown, on Saturday, March 14 at 12 noon.
