Road users in the Granard district have been warned to expect delays over the next 9 days as roadworks take place on the L-1044 at Carrickadoorish and on the L-5078 at Enaghan.

Beginning today, Thursday March 12, the works will take place from 8am until 5pm each day until Friday March 20.

To facilitate the road works, which are being carried out as part of the Roads Programme 2026, a traffic management system - namely stop/go signage or traffic lights - will be in place for the duration.

Longford County Council said the roads will remain open but traffic delays should be expected.

Pedestrian management will also be in operation.
