Eileen Gilchriest, Carrickmoira, Newtownforbes, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of St Joseph's Hospital, Dublin Road, Longford on Sunday, October 26, 2025 of Eileen Gilchriest, Carrickmoira, Newtownforbes, Longford. Reunited with her beloved daughter Teresa Igoe, granddaughter Corinne, parents and brothers Frank, Tommy, Willie, Robbie, Jimmy and Christy.

Eileen will be sadly missed by her loving family, son-in-law Sean, grandchildren Raymond and his wife Noelle, Elaine and her husband Cian Dolan, great-grandchildren Liam and Cara Igoe, Fiadh Dolan, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and dear friends. Beautiful memories will be treasured ever, Of the happy days when we were together. Rest in Peace Eileen.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Monday, October 27 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7pm.

Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, Newtownforbes on Tuesday, October 28 at 11am. Following Mass, Eileen will be laid to rest in the family plot in the local cemetery. Mass can be viewed live HERE.

Patricia (Patsy) McGivney (née Lynch), Cloonagh, Dring, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at her residence, in her 96th year surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 26, 2025 of Patricia (Patsy) McGivney (née Lynch), Cloonagh, Dring, Longford and formerly Carnagh, Mullahoran, Co Cavan. 

Predeceased by her loving husband Jimmy, her parents Peter and Margaret Lynch, her sisters Agnes, Peggy and Anna, her daughter in law Brid and granddaughter Siannoin. Deeply regretted by her loving children Eilis McKeon (Tommy), Johnny (Brid, deceased), N.Y., Peter (Marie), Brian, Mairead, Adele O'Reilly (Malachy), Noel (Debbie),Sydney, and her grandchildren James (Sinéad), Evelyn, Jenny, David, Owen, Elaine, James, Yen, Niamh, Tien, Clara and Cormac. Also, her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Patsy Rest in Peace

Reposing in St Columba's Church, Mullinalaghta, N39EY17 on Monday evening, October 27 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning, October 28 at 12 noon with burial immediately afterwards in the local cemetery.

Sheila O'Neill, (née Duffy), Archers Crescent, Loughboy, Kilkenny / Ballinalee, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, at St Luke's Hospital on Saturday, October 25, 2025 of Sheila O'Neill (nee Duffy), Archers Crescent, Loughboy, Kilkenny and formerly of Currygrane, Ballinalee, Co Longford. 

Beloved wife of the late John and much loved mother of Annette and Shaun. Sheila will be dearly missed by her loving family, brothers Jim, Brendan, Vincent, Kevin, Oliver and Frank, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Sheila is also predeceased by her sister Alice and brothers Sean, Joseph, Michael and Patrick.

The family would like to thank in a special way all at Tinnypark Nursing Home for the care and kindness shown to Sheila during her time with them. May her gentle soul Rest in Peace. 

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Wednesday, October 29 from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary and Prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday, October 30 at 12noon in St Fiacre's Church, Loughboy. Funeral afterwards to Foulkstown Cemetery. House is private please. Patricia O'Brien (née McCabe), Clareview Park, Ballybane, Galway / Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by friends and family in the wonderful care of the staff at Galway University Hospital on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 of Patricia O'Brien (née McCabe), Clareview Park, Ballybane, Galway and formerly of Water Street, Longford town.

Pre-deceased by her husband Michael, brothers Ned and James, and sisters Mary and Veronica. Dearly missed by her brothers Martin and Barney, and sister Josephine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their partners, neighbours, relatives and friends. May her kind and gentle soul, Rest in Peace.

Requiem Mass for Patricia will be celebrated on Monday, October 27 on arrival at 11am to St Brigid’s Church, Ballybane, Galway. Following Mass a private cremation will take place in Shannon Crematorium. Thank you for your thoughtfulness at this time.

Mary Hilda O'Reilly (née Kiernan), Augharan, Aughavas, Leitrim / Drumreilly, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in her 92nd year after a short Illness under the care of the wonderful staff at St Patrick's Hospital, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim with her children by her side on Friday, October 24, 2025 of Mary Hilda O’Reilly (née Kiernan), Augharan, Aughavas and formerly Aughalough, Drumreilly Co Leitrim. 

Predeceased by her parents Charlie Kiernan and Ellie Mitchell, her brother Willie and her husband Cornelius O'Reilly (Drumeela). Her daughter Shirley (Joe), sons Cathal and Connie, grandsons Daniel and Liam (Kate), great granddaughter Rhona will miss her endlessly.

Hilda will be fondly remembered by family, neighbours and friends. Her vitality, lust for life and jovial nature will never be forgotten by those who knew her best.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore (N41TD62) on Sunday, October 26 from 4pm to 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, October 27 at 10am in St Mary's Church, Drumreilly followed by cremation in Lakeland's crematorium, Cavan (H12 RF78) at 1pm. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to St Patrick's Hospital Patient Comfort Fund. House Private Please. 

Eileen Josephine Fitzpatrick (née Kane), Booterstown, Dublin / Moyne, Longford / Carnew, Wicklow

The death occurred peacefully at Newbridge Nursing Home, Mullingar on Sunday, October 12, 2025 of Eileen Josephine Fitzpatrick (née Kane), St Helen’s Road, Booterstown, Dublin & London and formerly Fyhora, Moyne, Co Longford.  

Loving wife of the late Kevin, sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace. 

Eileen will be reposing at McCrea’s Funeral Home, Carnew, Co Wicklow (Y14EK24) from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, October 28. Removal to St Brigid’s Church, Tomacork on Wednesday, October 29 arriving for 2.30pm Funeral Mass followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
