The case was heard at Longford District Court
A 25 year old woman appeared before Longford District Court on charges that included being in possession of an axe “for causing injury or incapacitating a person” on Dublin Road, Longford, on October 10 last year.
Shania Duignan of 14 Pearse View, Longford, was also charged with having had “a knife/article which had a blade or was sharply pointed” while being in a public place, on the same date.
Ms Duignan’s legal representation told the court that a disclosure had been made and so a consultation would now be required with her.
Judge Gearty adjourned the case until December 9 “for a plea or date” meaning if she pleads guilty, a date for sentencing will be set, however if she pleads not guilty, a trial date will be set so the case can be heard.
