Mick Murphy, College Park, Longford Town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 31, 2024 of Mick Murphy, College Park, Longford town. Predeceased by his mother Bridget and by his daughter Laura. Mick will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his beloved wife Marian, daughter Paula, sons Michael and Shane, grandchildren Joshua, Thomas, Corey and Millie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Monday, June 3 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, June 4 at 11am in St. Mel’s Cathedral, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery.

Eamon Ledwith, The Demesne, Longford Town, Co Longford

The death occurred unexpectedly, but peacefully, at home on Saturday, June 1, 2024 of Eamon Ledwith, The Demesne, Longford town, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Tess, by his brother Ciaran and by his sister Marie. Eamon will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, wife Kathleen, sons Kieran and Ian, daughters-in-law Julie and Laura, grandchildren Shelby, Keighlum, Griffin and Harry, sisters Siobhan, Therese and Lorraine, brothers Fr. Harry, Colm, Sean, Kevin, Mel and Cathal, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Louie (Lucy) Dillon (née Leavy), Main Street, Kilbeggan, Westmeath / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, with her loving family by her side on Sunday, June 2, 2024 of Louie (Lucy) Dillon (neé Leavy), Kilbeggan, and late of Kilnasavogue, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Agnes and James and her sister Peggy. Louie passed away  Louie was the beloved wife of Barney and dearly loved mother of Sean, Seamus, Niall and Una, Louie will be sadly missed by her sister Kathleen and brother-in-law Seamus Finnan, daughters-in-law Caroline, Christa and Noelle, son-in-law James and her adoring grandchildren Lucie, Annie, Tommy, Charlie, Esmé, Ciarán and Eoin, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. May Louie's Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing on Monday evening, June 3 at Nannery's River View, Chapel of Rest, Kilbeggan (N91HR88) from 4:00pm. till 6:30pm with removal afterwards to the Church of St. James Kilbeggan, arriving for 7:00pm funeral prayers. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, June 4 at 1:00pm, burial afterwards in the Relic Cemetery, Kilbeggan. Mass may be viewed live HERE.

Patrick (P) Noonan, Green Lane Mews, Ballymahon, Co Longford, N39 KC53

The death occurred in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Midlands Hospital Mullingar, Co Westmeath, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 31, 2024 of Patrick (P) Noonan, Green Lane Mews, Ballymahon, Co Longford.  Sadly missed by his wife Mary, daughters Sharon, Michelle and Caroline, sons in law, grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his residence on Monday, June 3 from 4pm to 7pm, followed by cremation on Tuesday, June 4 at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. The family would like to thank all the staff of the Midlands Hospital Mullingar for their excellent care and support during his illness. Also a special thank you to all the paramedics.

    Mary Carrigy, Rosson, Granard, Co Longford

    The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Padre Pio Ward in St Joseph's Care Centre, Longford on Thursday, May 30, 2024 of Mary Carrigy Rosson, Granard, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents William Joseph and Christina, her sisters Eileen and Norah. Sadly missed by her nieces Frances, Margaret, Angela, Eveleen, Berni, Kathleen and Teresa, Nephews Patrick and Brian, cousins, relatives, good neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

    Reposing in Our Lady's Manor, Edgeworthstown, eircode (N39VR04) on Sunday, June 2 from 4pm to 5pm. Removal arriving to St Mary’s Church, Granard for 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, June 3 at 11am. Burial afterwards in Granardkille old Cemetery. Family flowers only please.

    Edward (Eddie) Powell, Glasson, Athlone, Westmeath 

    The death occurred peacefully, on Sunday, June 2, 2024 of Edward (Eddie) Powell Glasson, Athlone, Westmeath. Predeceased by his infant brother James. Sadly missed by his parents Chris and Mary, sisters Marie, Ellen, Anne, Olivia and Patricia, brothers Michael, Richie and Noel, nephews, nieces, in-laws, relatives, neighbours and many friends. May He Rest In Peace.

    Reposing at Flynn's Funeral Home, The Strand on Tuesday evening, June 4 from 6pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass in Church of Immaculate Conception, Tubberclair, on Wednesday morning, June 5 at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private, please. Family flowers only please, donations if desired, in lieu, to the Palliative Care Unit, Portiuncula University Hospital. The family greatly appreciates your sympathy and support at this very sad time.

    The death occurred suddenly on Sunday, June 2, 2024 of Gerard Gill, Ballinwing, Leitrim PO, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his mother Margaret. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving son Jason, father Padraig, brothers Joseph (Carrick-on-Shannon), Adrian (Ramelton, Donegal), sisters Christina (Manorhamilton), Bernie (Rossinver), Jason’s mother Margaret, sister-in-law Sinead, brothers-in-law Derek and Ray, niece Nyla, nephews Shane, Aaron, Jack, Lucas and Lee, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.     Mary Teresa Regan (née Keane), Leitrim PO, Leitrim Village, Co Leitrim

    The death occurred peacefully at home in her 92nd year surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 1, 2024 of Mary Teresa Regan (née Keane), Leitrim Village, Leitrim PO, Co. Leitrim. Predeceased by her husband Jim, sons Tom and Micheál. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her devoted family, son Seamus (Leitrim Village), daughter Phil Taylor (Elphin), daughter-in-law Colleen, son-in-law Harman, adored grandchildren James, Darren, David, Alan, Paul, Kevin and David, great-grandchildren Croiadh, Cadhla, Iona, Daithí, Ruáiri, Eilidh, Robbie and Senan, brother Sonny Keane (Ballinwing), sisters-in-law Alicia, Julia, Chris and Mary Ellen, brother-in-law Tom, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.     Sr Venard Flanagan, McAuley House, Convent Road, Roscommon Town, Roscommon / Strokestown, Roscommon

    The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her adoring family, Mercy Sisters and staff of Innis Ree Lodge, Nursing Home, Ballyleague, Lanesborough on Saturday, June 1, 2024 of Sr Venard Flanagan, McAuley House, Convent Road, Roscommon Town and formerly of St. Anne’s, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. 

    Predeceased by her parents Mary and Francis, siblings Moira, Fr. Des, Bill, Pauline and Broddy. Sr. Venard will be sadly missed by her sister Doris, brother Teddy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, great-grandniece, by her many relatives and a wide circle of friends, Mercy Sisters of the Western Province and her community in McAuley House, Roscommon. May Sr. Venard rest in peace.

    Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Monday evening, June 3 from 4pm until 5.30pm followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, June 4 at 11am. Burial afterwards in the Sisters of Mercy Cemetery, Roscommon. The Flanagan family and Mercy Sisters would like to thank the staff at Innis Ree Lodge for their excellent care and support during Sr. Venard’s time there.     The death occurred  peacefully at home on Friday, May 31, 2024 of Brigid Kavanagh (née Shiel), Dundrum and Ranelagh, Dublin and formerly of Bunnamuca, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael and grandson Shane. Sadly missed and remembered by all her loving family, daughter Mary, sons Patrick, Kevin, Declan, Seán and Aidan, daughters-in-law Barbod, Mary and Margaret, son-in-law Seán, brother Pete, grandchildren Paul, John, Colm, Patricia, Reza, Patrick, Caoimhe, Mikey and Sarah, great-grandchildren Daisy, Lilybelle, Danny, Rebecca, Alyssa, Aoibheann, Fionn, Jack, Rosie and Luán, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.     Brigid will repose at her home on Monday, June 3 from 3pm to 5pm. Removal on Tuesday morning, June 4 to the Church of the Holy Cross, Dundrum arriving for 10:30am Mass, followed thereafter to Mt Venus Cemetery.

    Elaine Dillon-Conran, Tower View, Strokestown, Roscommon / Cabra, Dublin

    The death occurred peacefully at Sligo University Hospital on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 of Elaine Dillon-Conran Tower View, Strokestown, Roscommon/ Cabra, Dublin. Loving wife and best friend of Ian, dearly loved mother of Teighán and Nathan, much loved granny to Elijah, and mother-in-law of Robyn. Elaine will be sadly missed by her family, relatives and friends. Peace Perfect Peace.

    Reposing at her home in Tower View Strokestown on Monday, June 3 from 1p.m. to 10p.m. Removal to Lakelands Crematorium Cavan on Tuesday, June 4 for Funeral Service at 12 noon.

    Tony Gray, London

    The death occurred peacefully at his home in London on April 9, 2024 of Tony Gray. Predeceased by his father, John Francis Gray of Longford, and his mother Barbara.  Sadly missed by his loving sisters, Cathy, Marie and Juliet, his wife Donna and daughters, Jade and Crystel. May he rest in peace.

    Cecilia Breslin (née McLoughlin) Birmingham and formerly of Kiltycreevagh, Longford

    The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of St Joseph’s care home Coleshil, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 6, 2024 of Cecilia Breslin, (nee McLoughlin) Hall Green, Birmingham; and formerly of Kiltycreevagh, County Longford, Ireland. She will be sadly missed by her beloved daughters Cecilia and Margaret, sons Brendan and Arnold, daughters-in-law Maria and Anne, grandchildren, her brother Brendan and all of her extended family and friends.

        Catherine Cribbens (née Devine) Keston, Kent, England and Barrack Street, Granard, Longford

        The death occurred after a short illness on Friday, May 3, 2024 of Catherine Cribbens (nee Devine) Keston, Kent, England and formerly of Barrack Street, Granard Co. Longford. Predeceased by her husband Frank, son Timothy and sister Margaret Boyce. Sadly missed by her sons Nicholas, Jonathan and Simon, her brother James Devine, Mullingar and her sister Anne Donohoe, Creevey, Granard, her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
