Ballinalee author launches second poetry collection in Longford Town
Peter plans festive finale to successful poetry collection
BALLINALEE author and poet, Peter Bernard Reynolds has launched his second book.
‘Red Sun of Summer, Blue Moon of Winter’, Peter’s latest collection of poetry was launched in Athena Gallery in Longford town on Thursday, October 8.
Speaking to the Longford Leader following the successful event, Peter said it was a lovely night.
"We had a lot of people there came to pick up a book and obviously got a signing and got their photograph taken.
"It was great to see everybody that came and obviously just to see a bit of support from the community there, it was great to have it.”
‘Red Sun of Summer, Blue Moon of Winter’ follows his first collection, ‘Bard of Our Time’, which was brought to life after his daughter Keira came across his poetry in the attic and encouraged him to share it with a wider audience.
Peter said the reaction to his second book has been very positive. “People are desperate to get hold of the next one but we'll obviously release it in time there for Christmas or shortly afterwards.”
Peter is hoping to release the third book in his trilogy in December or January. He added that the next book in the trilogy will have more of a Christmas focus. “All these books are written at that point in time in the season of time, so like Red Sun was written around summer, autumn, and Falling Star is written around kind of winter, spring season so they all kind of match the season where they're being released in.
Poetry is Peter’s main literary field but he is looking at branching out to short stories and novels.
