A video in which a convoy of vehicles from Longford Garda Station and the Garda Armed Support Unit can be seen descending upon a house in Garvey's Close just two days before the same house was targeted by a lone gunman, is being circulated on WhatsApp.
At least 6 Garda vehicles and one unmarked patrol car can be seen entering the estate and surrounding the house as members of the Armed Support Unit file up to enter the property.
It is believed the Garda raid is connected to the earlier discovery of a weapon in Edgeworthstown.
The shooting (footage of which you can see here) which occurred two days later on Feb 4, and in which a bullet was fired at the house, is yet another incident in a catalogue of crimes connected to an ongoing feud in the town.
No one was injured in the shooting. The weapon has not yet been recovered.
