The unexpected death on Saturday, December 15, of John Brendan Lynch, Lacken Lower, Ballinagh is deeply regretted over a wide area.

John, who was a very outgoing and industrious man, passed away peacefully at Beaumont Hospital following a short illness.

He was very much an integral member of the Lacken community. He had a deep faith and was a regular at all masses in St Michael’s Church, Potahee.

He possessed a great love for gardening and was a member of the Ballinagh Gardening Club where he won an award recently.

He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, brothers Tommy, Phelim Jim and sister Mary Ann Reilly.

Beloved father of John Francis, Tommy, Helen Sales, Rosemary and Philip, the late John Brendan Lynch will be sadly missed by his family, his adored grandchildren Miles, Georgina, Jessica, Ruth, Edith, Thora, Imogen and Sean, his brother Owen (Killeshandra), daughters in law Caroline, Lizzie and Sophie and son in law Matthew, sisters in law Annie Lynch (Killeshandra) and Mary Reilly, brothers in law Sylvester, John, Michael and Vincent Carolan, nieces, nephews, relatives, great friends and neighbours.

Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday morning, December 18 in St Michael’s Church, Potahee and burial took place afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his family and may his gentle soul rest in peace.
