The Longford Roads Policing Unit today stopped a motorist driving at almost twice legal speed limit near Derrahaun.
An Garda Síochána, tweeted via their official Twitter account @GardaTraffic, that they detected a motorist travelling at 108kph in a 60 kph zone at Derrahaun, Co Longford.

A fixed charge penalty notice was issued to the driver.
The tweet concluded by warning motorists to slow down and arrive alive.
