Motoring Alert: Aughnacliffe to Arva Road in north Longford has reopened following fatal collision
The Aughnacliffe to Arva Road in North Longford has reopened following yesterday's fatal collision that claimed the life of a 62-year-old male pedestrian.
The collision occurred at Cleenrath, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford on Wednesday evening, December 26 at approximately 7pm.
The road was closed for 24 hours to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí in Granard are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Granard Garda Station on 043 - 6687660, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Meanwhile, the N61 (Athlone - Roscommon road, near Hodson Bay, Co Roscommon) has been closed just outside Athlone due to a collision.
AA Roadwatch is reporting that diversions are in place from the Roscommon side at Ardsallagh More and from the opposite side through Athleague. Expect delays both ways on approach. The closure may remain in place overnight.
