18.7% of Longford drivers have penalty points

One-fifth of Longford drivers have penalty points

According to data published by the Central Statistics office (CSO) titled ‘Regional SDGs Ireland 2017’, almost one-fifth of licence holders in Longford have penalty points.

A total of 3,494 licence holders in the county have between 1-3 penalty points, with 1,000 drivers having 4-6 points and 208 drivers having in excess of 7 points on their licence.

This brings the total number of penalty point holders in the county to 4,702, with 25,139 registered licences in the whole county.

This means that a total of 18.7% of licence holders in Longford have points on their licence.
