Protrans Limited, a transport, logistics, and warehouse solutions company based in Newtownforbes has lodged an application for planning permission to construct a warehouse unit at their facility located at Leitrim Cross. 

The application was lodged today, Tuesday March 10, and also includes proposed alterations to the ground floor level of “an existing office/warehouse unit previously granted full planning permission under Pl04/1206 to include for the provision of additional office space together with alterations to the front façade of the building to facilitate same.”

Also included in the application was the “proposed removal of existing hedgerow along the site frontage and the proposed continuation of the existing front boundary wall along same and all ancillary site works.” 

Protrans is a hugely successful family owned transport and logistics provider which operates across Ireland, UK and Europe.

Established just over 28 years ago and serving a variety of sectors from pharma to food, they are regarded as industry heavyweights.  

Longford County Council is expected to return a decision on the planning application by May 4
