Late Owen Corcoran was a tower of strength in Colmcille’s 1950s triumphs
Colmcille and north Longford were saddened to learn of the recent death in London of 85-years-old Owen Corcoran, formerly of Aughagreagh, Ballinalee.

When the current Colmcille and Mullinlaghta players take their place on the Pearse Park pitch on Sunday, it will be the first time since 1952 for the clubs to clash in the senior football Championship final.
Colmcille were crowned the Longford senior football champions for the first time in 14 years with centre-half-back Ruairi Harkin scoring a last gasp winning goal from a penalty in a dramatic finish to the county final played in extremely difficult wet and windy conditions at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday.
