Helen Gouldsbury (née Gill), Moigh, Ballymahon, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by her family at the Midland’s Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 of Helen Gouldsbury (née Gill), Moigh, Ballymahon, Longford. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Johnny and by her sister Kathleen. Helen will be greatly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Oliver, daughters Patricia Ganly (Galway), Michelle Hall, son Gary, sons-in-law Ken and Sean, daughter-in-law Gillian, brothers, sisters, grandchildren Sarah, James, Oisin, Lucy, Ronan, Darragh and Nessa, nieces, nephew, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at the family home at Moigh, Ballymahon ( N39 C3N8) on Friday, December 23 from 4pm until 7pm. House is private to close friends and family outside of these times. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, December 24 at 11am in St.Matthew’s Church, Ballymahon, interment afterwards in Shrule Cemetery.

Christine Fitzgerald, Castlebrock, Ballinalee, Co Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 of Christine Fitzgerald, Castlebrock, Ballinalee, Co Longford and formerly of Carbery, Co Kildare. She is predeceased by her son Michael, daughter Shirley, parents Tom and Ann, brothers Jim, Kit and Thomas, sisters Mary-Ann and Peig. Christine will be forever missed by her loving family, husband Michael, son Eamon, daughter Jennifer, sons-in-law Christopher and Tim, her beloved granddaughter Jessica, brother John, brothers-in-law Cyril, Brendan, Eddie and John, sister-in-law Eilish (Crewe, England), nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace.
Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, on Friday, December 23 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Funeral cortege will arrive at St James's Church, Clonbroney, on Saturday, December 24 for funeral mass at 1pm, followed with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Kathleen Neary (née Connaughton), Lissaquill, Tang, Ballymahon, Westmeath


The death occurred, peacefully, in her 97th year, at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 of Kathleen Neary (née Connaughton), Lissaquill, Tang, Ballymahon, Westmeath. Predeceased by her husband Martin, brother James, sister Nancy (Nally) and son-in-law Raymond (Dullea). Sadly, missed by her loving family, sons Ciaran (Raphoe), Gerard (Mountbellew), Enda and Damian (Tang), daughters Bernie and Carol (Mount Temple), Loretto (Clonakilty), son-in-law Jay, daughters-in-law Heather, Eileen, Olive and Catherine, adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deeply regretted by her loyal neighbour Liam, relatives, neighbours and friends. Suaimhneas síoraí i measc na Naomh dí.
Reposing at her home on Thursday, December 22 from 4pm until 8pm. (Shuttle bus from Tang Church car park, (Eircode:N39 VY58), due to inadequate parking at house). Removal to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tang on Friday, December 23 arriving at 11.50am for Funeral Prayers. Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Temple Valley Cemetery.

Michael Moughty, Lissaniskey, Ballymahon, Co Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in St James's Hospital comforted by his loving family, on Monday, December 19, 2022 of Michael Moughty, Lissaniskey, Ballymahon, Co Longford. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty), daughter Orla, daughter-in-law Bernie, and brothers James & Jack. Sadly missed by his loving daughters Valerie & Sinead, sons Ciaran & Declan, sister Kathleen, grandchildren Ciara, Lisa, Emma, Shane & Cian, nephew JJ, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, relatives, neighbours & friends. Rest in Peace.
Michael will repose this Wednesday, December 21 in Kelly's Funeral Home, Athlone Road, Longford, N39 K381, from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 22 at noon in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon. Burial in Forgney Cemetery. House private. Liam O'Hanlon, Drumcoghill, Cornafean, Arva, Co Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully at home, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 of Liam O’ Hanlon, Drumcoghill, Cornafean, Co Cavan. Predeceased by his father Frank, mother Bridget, sister Rose, brothers James, Francis, Patsy and Brendan. Sadly missed by his loving family, brothers Finion and Mel, sisters-in-law Margaret and Kathleen, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, and friends. May he rest in peace.
Liam will repose at Lakeland’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Thursday evening, December 22 from 6pm until 8pm. The funeral cortege will leave the funeral home on Friday morning, December 23 at 10.30am and will travel to Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea, arriving for funeral Mass at 11.00am. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Colm Gormley, Gartylough, Arva, Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of College View Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 of Colm Gormley, Gartylough, Arva, Cavan. 
Loving husband of Marjorie and dear father of Alice (Jim), Michael (Melinda), Kevin (Elin), Mairead and Joan (Raymond). Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, brother Fr Kevin (Missouri), sister Chris Hourican (Fostra), sons in law, daughters in law, his adored grandchildren Alan, Ealanor, Conor, Stephen, Aoibheann, Niamh, Darragh, Eoin, Aoife, Áine and Aisling, great-grandchildren, Jasper, Freya, Maeve and Patrick, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The death occurred, peacefully, at St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 of Margaret Kenny (née Hanley), Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 and formerly of Rooskey, Co Roscommon. Much loved wife of Ray (Michael) and loving mother of Paula, Marie and Helen. Margaret will be greatly missed by her husband, daughters, brother Eamon, sister Pauline, sons-in-law Seán, Sam and Kris, grandchildren Éabha, Mae, Jack, Flynn and Reece, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Church Avenue, Blanchardstown on Thursday evening, December 22 from 6pm until 8pm. Removal to St Brigid’s Church, Blanchardstown on Friday morning, December 23 arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by burial in Balgriffin Cemetery.
