Bridie McArdle (née Flynn), (formerly Teffia Park) Terlicken, Ballymahon, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and neighbours, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 of Bridie McArdle (née Flynn), (formerly Teffia Park) Terlicken, Ballymahon, Longford. Predeceased by her parents, Tom and Elizabeth Flynn. Sadly missed by her heartbroken husband, Sonnie (Francis), adored daughter, Jennifer, and treasured son, Keith. She will be lovingly remembered by her son-in-law, Seamus, daughter-in-law, Irene, grandchildren, Alannah, Conor, Emily, Lauren, and Ryan. Bridie will be missed by her brothers, Frank, Tony, Paul, and Donal, sisters, Maye (Healy) and Madeleine (Davis), nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours, and friends. Rest in Peace.
Bridie will repose this Thursday, December 8, in Kelly's Funeral Home, Athlone Road, Longford, N39 K381, from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 9 at 12 noon in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon. Burial in Shrule Cemetery. John Courtney, 10 McHugh Park, Kenagh, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford, on Saturday, December 3, 2022 of John Courtney, 10 McHugh Park, Kenagh, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Pat and Annie, his brothers Paddy Joe, Jim, Bill, and Eamon. Deeply regretted by his loving family, daughters Sharon, Claire, Kelly, Veronica, Nicola and son Stephen. Grandchildren Leanne, Nathan, Jack, Stacey and Savannah. Brother Mike, sons-in-law Larry and John, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.
Reposing in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home this Wednesday evening, December 7 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 8 at 12 noon in St Dominic's Church, Kenagh, followed by burial in Abbeyshrule Cemetery.

Philomena Flynn, Tully, Ballinamore, Leitrim / Bawnboy, Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at the P.D.U ward in Cavan General Hospital, following wonderful care in the Ballinamore Community Nursing Unit, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 of Philomena Flynn, Tully, Ballinamore, Leitrim and formerly Boley, Bawnboy, Cavan. Predeceased by her parents John & Mary, her twin brother Seán and her infant sister Mary. Philomena will be dearly missed by her loving brother Philip, her relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace. 
Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, this Thursday evening, December 8 from 6pm until 8 pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning, December 9 in St Patrick’s Church, Ballinamore, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Port Cemetery, Bawnboy, Co Cavan. Denis Duffy, Bishopstown, Cork / Strokestown, Roscommon
The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the Staff at Marymount, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 of Denis Duffy (Retired Det. Garda), Bishopstown, Cork and late of Clooncagh, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Beloved husband of Elma and dear father of Desmond, Leona, Maura, Brian and Denise. Grandfather of the late Conor and brother of the late Eamon, Mick and Leo. Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, grandchildren Gavin, Luke, Peter, Seán, D.J., Leo, Aine, Aoife, Clíodhna, Liam, Saoirse, Ellen, Amy, Sarah and great grandchild Raegan, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, brother Luke, sisters Gertie, Una, Ita, Bridie, Helen and Phil, extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Forde's Funeral Home, South Gate Bridge on Wednesday, December 7 from 5pm until 6pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday, December 8 at 3pm at the Church of the Real Presence, Curraheen which may be viewed on www.curraheenparish.com, funeral afterwards to The Island Crematorium which may be viewed at 5pm on www.islandcrematorium.ie/services. Margaret Mary Cocker (née O'Neill), Derrinkip, Fenagh, Leitrim


The death occurred, after a short illness, on Sunday, December 4, 2022 of Margaret Mary Cocker (nee O'Neill), Derrinkip, Fenagh, Leitrim at Sligo University Hospital. Deep gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff at the hospital.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Les, her children Peter, Lesley, Robert and Samantha, her grandchildren Luke, Matthew, Sean, Dominic and Katie, her sister Josephine and all extended family, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore (N41 TD62) on Wednesday evening, December 7 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass at 11.30am on Thursday, December 8 in St Mary's Church Foxfield, Fenagh followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 2pm. House private at all times please. The family would like all those present to join them afterwards in both Gerties and McKeons of Keshcarrigan for refreshments from 4pm.

Patricia Maguire, Drumbibe, Aughnasheelin, Co Leitrim


The death occurred, peacefully in the tender loving care of the nurses and staff at Drumderrig Nursing Home, Boyle, on Sunday, December 4, 2022 of Patricia Maguire, Drumbibe, Aughnasheelin, Co Leitrim.
Predeceased by her parents Eva and Frank, brothers Patrick and Michael (Mike), (recently deceased, USA), sisters Mai and Josephine. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister Elizabeth (USA), brother Tommy (Ballinamore), sister-in-law Mary (USA), nieces, nephew (USA), cousins, her many friends and carers in Lough Town House, Summerhill, Carrick-on-Shannon, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.

Rev Michael Doyle, Camden, NJ and late of Rossduff, Aughnacliffe, Longford


The death occurred on Friday November 4, 2022, one day after his 88th birthday, of Rev Michael Doyle, Camden, New Jersey and formerly of Rossduff, Aughnacliffe, County Longford. He is survived by his sister Phyllis O’Reilly and her husband Johnny, his sister-in-law Margaret Doyle, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John Doyle and Rosetta Creegan Doyle, his brothers Pat Doyle and Fr. J.J. Doyle, sister Anna Mae Doyle (Sr Concepta) and his niece Sinead O’Reilly. May he rest in peace.
A Funeral Mass led by Camden Bishop Dennis Sullivan will be held on Friday, November 11 at 11:30am (4:30pm Irish time) at the Sacred Heart Church, the parish he led for 46 years. A Parish Mass will be held on Saturday, November 12 at 10:30am (3:30pm Irish time). The Masses will be live streamed at www.sacredheartofcamden.com/live-stream. Burial will follow the parish Mass at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden. A Mass of Remembrance will be held on December 8 at 7:30pm in St Colmcille Church, Aughnacliffe. Fr Doyle was an advocate for Peace and Justice all his life.
