The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 of Rose (Rosemary) Coyle (née Hughes), Cranley, Mostrim, Longford. 

Predeceased by her husband Jimmy, her brothers Kevin, Mel and John, her sister Rita and her parents John and Margaret. Rose will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, John, Seamus, Anna, Eithne, Fintan, Monica and Martin. Her sons in law Philip Carron, Paul Donohoe and John Dunne, daughter in law Emer (O’Connor) and her adored granddaughters Olivia, Niamh, Eleanor, Ruth, Orla, Ciara and Ailish. Her sisters Anna (McGerr), Bernadette (Dugdale), Mairead (O’Flaherty) and Sheila, her brother Pat, her sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and her wonderful neighbours and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.

Reposing in St Mary’s Church, Edgeworthstown on Wednesday, January 7 from 5pm with prayers at 8pm. Funeral mass on Thursday, January 8 at 12 noon followed by burial in Aughafin Cemetery. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the staff at St John’s ward in St James Hospital and the nurses and carers who looked after Rose so attentively at home.

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her heartbroken family in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Monday January 5, 2026 of Mary Heneghan (nee Rhatigan), The Clover, Creevaghmore, Ballymahon, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents Tom and Catherine, brother Peter and her niece Lorraine. Mary will be sadly missed and forever remembered with love by her family, her husband and best friend John, her cherished children Stephen, Lynda, David, Joanne, Karen and Emma, sons-in-law Hugh Quaine and Declan O' Neill, daughter-in-law Annamaire, her adored grandchildren Seán, Erin, Robyn, Rían, Evan, Elliot, Ryan, Evie, Finn, Cara, Senan, Saibh, Naoise and Donagh, brother John, sisters Catherine, Barbara, Marian and Elizabeth, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews,nieces, relatives, her wonderful neighbours and dear friends. Though you’ve journeyed beyond our view, Love’s bond remains strong and true. Until we meet again one day, In our hearts, you’ll always stay. Rest in Peace Mary.

Reposing on Tuesday, January 6 in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon, Co Longford from 6 pm until 8 pm. Removal from her home on Wednesday, January 7 to arrive at St Matthew’s Church for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass, Mary will be laid to rest in Shrule Cemetery. Fresh flowers only please. Francis Kelly, Tromra Road, Granard, Longford

The death occurred suddenly, following an accident on Saturday, January 3, 2026 of Francis Kelly, Tromra Road, Granard, Longford.

Predeceased by his sister Rosaleen and brother Patrick (Pa), Francis will be sadly missed by his loving parents Bernie and Francie, brother Thomas, sister Catriona, partner Stephanie, daughters Paige, Talita and Rosaleen, sons Francie Jr and Tommy Lee, grandfather Tom, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May Francis Rest In Peace.

Reposing at 14 Tromra Road, Granard (N39 V298) on Wednesday, January 7 from 2pm to 4pm, followed by removal to St Mary's Church, Granard, arriving at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 8 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Granardkille Cemetery. MaryJo McDonnell, Moatefarrell, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Joseph’s Care Centre on Friday, January 2, 2026 of MaryJo McDonnell, Castlebrock, Moatefarrell, Co Longford. 

Pre-deceased by her extended family. Maryjo will be sadly missed and remembered with love by Richard, Martin, Gregg, Brendan, Ann, Gerard and Paul, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Removal from Glennon’s Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10 to arrive at St James’s Church, Clonbroney, Ballinalee for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patsy Brady, Kilshrewley, Ballinalee, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the care of the staff of Shannon Lodge Nursing home, and in his 94th year, on Saturday, January 3, 2026 of Patsy Brady, Kilshrewley, Ballinalee, Co Longford. 

Pre deceased by his wife Maureen (née Healy, Newtowncashel), Patsy will be forever missed by his sons Michael, PJ, David and his loving daughter Martina McNamee (Andy), his cherished grandsons Daire and Conor, son in law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in The Holy Trinity Church Ballinalee on Tuesday, January 6 from 5-7pm. Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, January 7 in the Holy Trinity Church Ballinalee at 12 noon with burial afterwards in St Emer's Cemetery. Family flowers only. Thomas (Tom) Smith, Marlinstown Lawns, Mullingar, Westmeath / Granard, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the company of his loving family at the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar and previously in the tender care of the staff at Portiuncula Nursing Home Multyfarnham on Friday, January 2, 2026 of Thomas (Tom) Smith, Larchdale, Marlinstown Lawns, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, and late of London and formerly of Granard, Co Longford. 

Dearly loved husband and best friend of Anne and loving father of Annette. Tom will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by Anne and Annette and his dear friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace. 

Reposing at Portiuncula Nursing Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 12 noon concluding with prayers at 1pm. A private cremation will take place.

Jeffry George Lefroy, Crowenstown Little, Delvin, Westmeath / Longford

The death occurred in his 90th year, after a very long illness borne with great stoicism on Saturday, December 27, 2025 of Jeffry George Lefroy, Crowenstown Little, Delvin, Co Westmeath and formerly of Carrigglas Manor, Longford. 

Beloved husband of Tessa, brother of Laetitia and loving father of Langlois and Edward and grandfather of Kit. Much loved father-in-law of Valérie and Niki. Funeral Service to take place on Sunday, January 11 at 2pm at St James’ Church of Ireland, Athboy, Co. Meath C15 XD59, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. House private, please.

Sr Brigid Reynolds, Finiskill, Mohill, Co Leitrim, N41 W258 / Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim / Ranelagh, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully at St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 3, 2026 of Sr Brigid Reynolds, Marist Sisters, Cambridge Terrace, Ranelagh, Dublin and formerly of Finiskill, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Pre-deceased by her parents Elizabeth and Patrick and her brother-in-law Pat Farrell. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister Maura Farrell (Mohill), her brothers Joe (Scotland) Peter (Dublin) and Padraig (Mohill). Sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, her Marist Sisters, Fr Sean Healy and her work colleagues in Social Justice Ireland. May She Rest In Peace.

Sr. Brigid will repose at the Marist Convent Chapel, Carrick-on-Shannon on Tuesday, January 6 from 3pm until 5pm followed by evening prayer. Removal on Wednesday morning, January 7 to St Mary’s Church, Carrick-on-Shannon arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the Convent Cemetery. Kevin Manix McAlister, Ronclai, Riversdale, Leitrim village, Co Leitrim, N41F294 / Crosshaven, Cork / Kildare

The death occurred peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 4, 2026 of Kevin Manix McAlister, Leitrim village and formerly of Langley BC. Canada, Kildare and Crosshaven, Co Cork. Predeceased by his son Jed, his parents Christina and Sean, and his brother Finbarr.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Caroline, his daughter Elaine, his grandchildren, Aoibhean, Finn and Fiadh, his brothers and sisters, Maureen, Noreen, Cathal, Don and Brendan, his brother-in-law Dave (Liz) his nieces and nephews, Steven (Jennifer), Sinead (Emmet), Aisling (Glen), Jen (Grant), Katie, Jack, Oliver, Arthur, Harrison and Shay and all his good friends and neighbours. Kevin will repose at his home on Wednesday, January 7 from 4pm to 7pm. Removal from his home on Thursday, January 8 to St Joseph's Church, Leitrim village for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. June Elliott (née McNamara), Glasnevin, Dublin / Ballyleague, Roscommon / Nenagh, Tipperary

The death occurred peacefully, at the Mater Hospital and previously in the care of Anam Cara, Glasnevin in her 93rd year on Saturday, January 3, 2026 of June (Margaret) Elliott (née McNamara), Glasnevin, Dublin and formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon and Nenagh, Co Tipperary. 

Beloved wife of the late Frank. Sadly missed by her stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Frances, nieces, nephews, extended family, a wide circle of friends and former colleagues in Telecom Eireann. Predeceased by her brothers Morgan and George and her sister Sr. Clare. May she rest in peace.

Reposing in Lanigan’s Funeral Home, 21 Beaumont Road on Thursday, January 8 from 3pm to 5pm. Removal on Friday morning, January 9 to Our lady of Dolours Church, Glasnevin arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am, followed by Cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium. Family flowers only please. The death occurred suddenly, following a tragic accident, aged 35 years, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 of Sean Keaney, Derrin Lower, Ballinagh, Co Cavan and Hanwell, London, England.  

Loving Son of Bridie and the late Charlie, Brother of Cathriona, Fiona, Breda, Katie, Matt, Cathal and Thomas. Sadly missed by his Mother, Sisters, Brothers, Sisters in law, Brothers in law, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Relatives, Neighbours and Friends. May He Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family, in her 93rd year, on Friday, January 2, 2026 of Bridget McCabe (née Brady), Drumheel, Ballinagh, Co Cavan.  

Beloved wife of the late John Andy. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Susan Brady. Bridget will be forever loved and sadly missed by her loving family; Padraig, Michael, Siobhan and Breda, daughters in law, son in law, sadly missed by her thirteen adored grandchildren and her two cherished great grandchildren, her cousins extended family, neighbours and friends. Reposing at her home in Drumheel on Sunday, January 4 from 12noon to 4pm for family, neighbours and close friends. Reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Monday, January 5 from 5pm to 8pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, January 6 in St Felim's Church, Ballinagh at 11am, with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully at St Francis Hospice, Raheny on Saturday, January 3, 2026 of Mary (Maxie) Fitzgerald (née McHugh), Swords, Dublin and formerly of Mohill, Co Leitrim. 

Beloved wife of the late Frank and sister of the late Joe, Thomas and Patsy. Sadly missed by her loving son Ivan, daughters Niamh and Laura, sons-in-law Daniel and Jonathan, grandchildren Aoife, Eimear, Mia, Kane and Frankie, brother Gerry, sister Theresa, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she Rest In Peace.

Joan Nea, Castlepollard, Westmeath

The death occurred at home, surrounded by her loving and heartbroken family after battling a long illness on Thursday, December 11, 2025 of Joan Nea, Basildon, Essex, England and formerly of Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, aged 82.

Predeceased by her husband Martin. Sadly missed by her loving children Pauline, Stephen and Tina, her adored grandchildren Nichola, Melissa, Martha, Siobhan and Kieran, great-grandchildren Leonyedus, Eoin, Patrick and Ahreay, daughter-in-law Lorraine, son-in-law Paul, Nichola's partner Tony, Melissa's partner Leon, Martha's husband Noel; brother David and his family in Australia; and a wide circle of friends.
