Patricia Slowey (née Devlin), Ardara, Donegal / Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at Donegal Hospice on Sunday, December 28, 2025 of Patricia Slowey (née Devlin), Tullycleave, Ardara, Co Donegal and formerly of Longford town. 

Loved and forever missed by her husband Terence, her children Yvonne (Matt), Jennifer (Owen) and Kelvin (Nicole), her grandchildren Lucy, Evelyn and Callum who she cherished dearly. Sadly missed by her sisters Teresa, Catherine and Margaret, her brothers Michael and Christy, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Margaret Devlin, and sister Angela. May she rest in peace.

Patricia’s remains will repose at Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara on Sunday, December 28 from 6pm to 9pm and on Monday, December 29 from 12 nioon to 8pm. Funeral home private on the morning of the funeral. Removal from there on Tuesday, December 30 to the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara, for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Donegal Hospice. Patricia’s Funeral Mass can be viewed live on The Church of the Holy Family website.

Leona Cox (née Lohan), Tullyvrane, Lanesboro, Longford / Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025 of Leona Cox (nee Lohan), Tullyvrane, Lanesboro, Co Longford and formerly of Moher, Strokestown, Co Roscommon and Drumlish, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Charlie and May.

Leona will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her beloved husband Edward, son Aron, daughter-in-law Patricia, grandchildren Amy, Sarah and Daniel, sisters Mary, Loretta and Charlette, brother Tom, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Monday, December 29 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, December 30 in St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro at 12 noon, interment afterwards in Clonbonny cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE. Family flowers only please.

Katherine (Cathy) Jordan (née Kane), Currabawn, Drumlish, Longford

The death occurred suddenly at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 of Katherine (Cathy) Jordan (née Kane), Currabawn, Drumlish, Longford.

Predeceased by her parents Jim and Maureen & infant brother James. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Bernard (Barney), daughter Karen (Dave), son James (Rachel), sister Mary (Lennon), grandchildren Chloe, Matthew, Jade, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, relatives and friends. May Cathy Rest in Peace. 

Arriving this Saturday evening December 27 to St Mary's Church, Drumlish for prayers at 6pm. Funeral mass on Sunday, December 28 at 11am followed by burial in Old Cemetery. House Private.

Mary Skelly (née Dolan), Ballynamanagh, Colehill, Longford / Kilrooskey, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 of Mary Skelly (née Dolan), Ballynamanagh, Colehill, Longford and formerly of Kilrooskey, Roscommon. 

Predeceased by her husband Harry, brothers John and Peter. Deeply regretted by her loving family. Her sisters Nancy, Terry and Bridie (Cox), brother-in-law Dan, sister-in-law Kathy Skelly (London), nieces Mary and Paula, the Skelly and Byrne Family, relatives, friends, and very good neighbours especially Keith & Daphne. May she rest in peace

Removal to the Church of The Sacred Heart Carrickedmond this Saturday evening, December 27 to arrive at 6pm. Funeral after 1pm mass on Sunday, December 28 followed by burial in Abbeyshrule cemetery.

Kathleen McKiernan (née Reilly), Corlismore, Ballinagh, Cavan

The death occurred on Friday, December 26, 2025 of Kathleen McKiernan (née Reilly), Corlismore, Ballinagh and formerly Drumnalara, Ballinagh, and New Rochelle, New York. 

Predeceased by her mother Bridget, father Hugh, her beloved husband Frank McKiernan, brother Hughie Reilly and her sister May Fitzpatrick. Sadly missed by her loving children Jackie (Jimmy), Frankie (Linda), Dee Dee (Chris), Brian, Terry (Dawn), Sean (Jen), Paul (Linsay), her adored grandchildren James, Thomas, Jennifer, Frankie, Brianna, Jillian, Shea, Kevin, Katie, Kimmie, Gavin, Shane and Collin, great-grandchildren Lucy, Ayla, Hailey and Reece, brothers Danny (Ann) and Charlie, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Monday, December 29 from 6pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, December 30 in St Michael’s Church, Potahee at 12 noon. Kathleen will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Frank in New York. Funeral Mass will be live streamed HERE

Patricia (Patsy) McGovern, Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred in the wonderful care of the staff at Arus Carolan Nursing Home in Mohill on Monday, December 22, 2025 of Patricia (Patsy) McGovern, Mohill, Leitrim. 

Patsy is predeceased by her loving husband Phil and will be sadly missed by her sister Bernadette, her nieces and nephews, relatives, her good friend Declan Feeney and other friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street Ballinamore (N41 TD62) on Sunday, January 4 from 3pm to 5pm. Funeral will take place on Monday, January 5 at 12 noon in St Patrick's Church, Mohill followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Joan Nea, Castlepollard, Westmeath

The death occurred at home, surrounded by her loving and heartbroken family after battling a long illness on Thursday, December 11, 2025 of Joan Nea, Basildon, Essex, England and formerly of Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, aged 82.

Predeceased by her husband Martin. Sadly missed by her loving children Pauline, Stephen and Tina, her adored grandchildren Nichola, Melissa, Martha, Siobhan and Kieran, great-grandchildren Leonyedus, Eoin, Patrick and Ahreay, daughter-in-law Lorraine, son-in-law Paul, Nichola's partner Tony, Melissa's partner Leon, Martha's husband Noel; brother David and his family in Australia; and a wide circle of friends.
