The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 of Martin Shannon, College Park, Longford and formerly of Kiltimagh, Co Mayo. 

Predeceased by his parents, sisters, brothers, granddaughter Sophie, grandson Alan and by other extended family members. Martin will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Betty, daughter Audrey Sheridan, sons David, Derek, Ian and Patrick, sisters Cora (U.S.A.) and Regina (U.S.A.), daughters-in-law Maria, Lesley-ann and Sarah, son-in-law Michael, grandchildren Hillary, John, Ryan, Callum, Emily, Claragh, Ciarán, Liam, Aebhín, Ríonagh and Seán, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Removal to St.Mel’s Cathedral, Longford on Friday, December 19 for prayers at 6pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, December 20 at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Nellie Gormley (née Reilly), Pulladoey, Aughnacliffe, Longford

The death occurred unexpectedly but peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 of Nellie Gormley (née Reilly), Pulladoey, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford and formerly of Smear, Aughnacliffe. 

Predeceased by her husband Ned; parents Patrick and Mary-Ellen; and sisters Patricia and Margaret-Mary. Nellie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family: Felix (Collette), Anne-Marie (Ciaran McKeon), Paddy (Ann), Pauline (Padraig Galvin), and Margaret (Alfie Dennany); her adored grandchildren Ciara, Ryan, Sean, Tara, Nadine, Michaela, Katie, Eddie, Niamh, Peter, Kian, and Jack; her sisters Maura Reynolds, Ann Heslin, and Bernadette Reilly; brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, many good friends, and neighbours. May She Rest in Peace.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Inis Ree Nursing Home on Wednesday,  December 17, 2025 of Rose Farrell (nee McCormack), The Green, Lanesboro, Co Longford and formerly of Kilcurry, Colehill.

Pre-deceased by her husband William, parents Patrick and Mary Ann, sisters Eileen and Maura, brothers Peter, Andrew, John Joe and Pat. Rose will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Mary Rhatigan, sons Willie, Padraig, Tomás (Galway) and Anthony, sister Margaret, daughters-in-law Marie, Deirdre, Anne and Evelyn, son-in-law Martin, grandchildren Tomás, David, Amy, Daniel, Tanya, Sarah, Andrew, Léann, Gordon, Hannagh, Evan, Adam and Emma, great-grandchildren Riún, Cuán, Rosie, Grace, Esme and Ada, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mary Ryan (née Malone), Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Monday, December 15, 2025 of Mary Ryan, Butterfield, Longford. 

Predeceased by her adored son William, husband Billy, sister Kathleen and by her brothers Maurice, George and Paul. Mary will be sadly missed by her daughter Anita, sister Ann Darling, brothers James, Charlie, Gabriel and Henry (Andy), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prayers service in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel on Thursday, December 18 at 2pm, followed by interment in Ballymacormack cemetery.

The death occurred unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the staff at The Galway Clinic on Saturday, December 13, 2025 of Margaret (Peggy) Moran (née Cunningham), Strokestown Road, Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon and formerly of Gaigue, Ballinamuck, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her loving husband Phonsie, parents Patrick and Mary Kate, sister Monica Mulleady, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Predeceased by his beloved wife Bridie, dear daughter Helena, parents Patrick and Lena and by his brothers John, Hugh and James. The death occurred peacefully after a short illness in the wonderful care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital and in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, December 13, 2025 of Anne Gormley (née Tierney), 4 Devine Crescent, Edgeworthstown, Longford / Limerick. 

Anne will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons Dermot, Barry and Brian and daughter Linda, their partners Lisa, Carmel and Ollie, grandchildren Jack, Makayla, James, Meghan, Shauna, Dylan, Jake and Stephen, great grandchildren Regan, Mila and Shae, brother Moss and sister Liz, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025 of Joseph (Joe) Hackett, Camberley, Surrey, England and formerly of Longford Town. 

Predeceased by his parents Joe and Tess, brothers Raymond and baby Christopher and by Eithne. Joe will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughters Laura and Eva and also by his son Luke, daughter Eleanor and their mother Jacqui, his beloved grandchildren, sisters Marie, Teresa, Kathleen, Dymphna and Deloras, brothers Zack and Martin, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The death occurred peacefully in his 91st year in the company of his loving wife and family, in the excellent care of the Midland Regional Hospital and previously in the tender care of the Portinucula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 of Paddy Troy Ballynacargy, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by his infant children, his daughter Mary, son Matthew, sister Freda and brother Seamus. The death occurred peacefully, following a long illness, at St Brigid's Hospice on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 of Joseph Moran, Green Road, Kildare town, Co Kildare Town and formerly Tang, Co Westmeath.

He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing brother Michael, sisters Mary (Owens), Bridie (Herity), Elizabeth (McWeeney), Pauline (Casserly), Collette (McLoughlin), nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, brothers-in-law, his many friends, and staff in the Brothers of Charity Strokestown. The death occurred peacefully, at Sligo University Hospital following a long illness bravely borne on Sunday, December 14, 2025 of Margaret Clews (née Nesbitt), Moher, Dromod, Co Leitrim. 

Beloved wife of David and dear mother to Ann McDonnell (Kilmacannon), Terry (Rooskey) and Sinead Overgaard (Rooskey). Sadly missed by her family, sons in law Dominic and Ulrik, daughter in law Andrea, her adored grandson Danny, sister Brenda Hurdyal, nieces Wendy and Hervin, brothers in law, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The death occurred very peacefully, in her 90th year, in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Drumderrig House Nursing Home, Boyle on Monday, December 15, 2025 of  Kathleen Smith (nee Dowling), New Rooskey, Rooskey, Co Roscommon.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Elizabeth, her sister Mary and brother Luke. Sadly missed by her loving husband Michael, children Deirdre (James), Fiona (Bernard), Michelle (Larry), Finbarr (Sandra) and Mark (Siobhan), beloved grandchildren Alison (Sean), Jessica, Sam, Marc, Emily and Danú. The death occurred peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 13, 2025 of Carol Howarth (nee McCall) 22 River Meadow, Dromod, Leitrim, N41TX46.

Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob). Sadly missed by her brother Harry and sister in law Catherine, nephews David, Neil, Hugh and John and their families. Also missed by Robert's brothers and the Howarth family. May she rest in peace.

Sligo, and The Square, (The Spar Supermarket), Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim.

Teresa is predeceased by husband John, son John, parents Patrick and Margaret (née Bree), and her brothers & sisters Michael James, Kathleen, Myra, Peggy, Patrick and Mary. The death occurred at home, surrounded by her loving and heartbroken family after battling a long illness on Thursday, December 11, 2025 of Joan Nea, Basildon, Essex, England and formerly of Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, aged 82.

Predeceased by her husband Martin.
