Mary Casey (née Brady), Limerick City, Limerick / Longford

The death occurred, peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, July 11, 2024 of Mary Casey (née Brady), Glenview Gardens, Farranshone, Limerick and formerly of St Mel’s Road, Longford. Beloved wife of Vincent, adored mother of Sinéad, Alan, Conor, Áine & Vincent, cherished grandmother of Kate, Molly & Mya. Mary is deeply regretted by her family, daughter-in-law Sandie, sisters-in-law Ann (Brady) & Marie (Brady) nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, on Sunday,  July 14 from 4.30pm to 6pm. Arriving at St Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand, on Monday,  July 15 for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Shannon Crematorium for 1pm Service. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Milford Care Centre. Donate online here.

Yvonne Ferguson (née Crawford), Ferriskill, Edgeworthstown, Longford / Newtownbutler, Fermanagh / Cavan

The death occurred on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 of Yvonne Ferguson (nee Crawford), Ferriskill, Edgeworthstown and late of Dublin Road, Edgeworthstown and Cloncorick, Newtownbutler, Co Fermanagh. Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bobbie) and her brother Harold. Sadly missed by her sons George, Harold and David, daughters-in-law Priscilla, Hazel and Niamh, grandchildren Ben, Aaron, Lucy, Sam, Louisa, Noah and Freya. Deeply regretted by her sisters, brother, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew, nieces, the wider family circle and friends.

Reposing at The Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown on Friday, July 12 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral service on Saturday, July 13 at 1pm in St John's Church, Edgeworthstown followed by burial in Aughafin Cemetery, Edgeworthstown. Family flowers only please. Mary Murray (née Lynch), Gortletteragh, Leitrim / Bailieboro, Cavan

The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and palliative care staff of Arus Carolan Nursing Home Mohill, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 of Mary Murray (née) Lynch, Gortletteragh, Co Leitrim and formerly of Bracklin, Bailieboro, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her parents Jimmy & Margaret, brothers Michael & Charlie. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Gus, sister Margaret (Newry), brothers John (Navan) & Pat (Colchester) sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews, relatives and friends. May Mary's Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford (N39 EC81), on Friday, July 12 from 6pm, concluding with prayers at 8pm. House private please except to neighbours and close friends. Funeral Mass at St Mary's church Gortletteragh on Saturday, July 13 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Farnaught Cemetery. Mary's family wishes to thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.

Damian Machnowski, 23 Church View, Ballymahon, Co Longford

The death occurred tragically following a car accident on Monday, July 8, 2024 of Damian Machnowski, 23 Church View, Ballymahon, Co Longford and formerly Śmiardowo Krajeńskie, Poland.  

Fondly remembered by his heartbroken wife Anna, his daughter Sophia and his son Alex, his mother Alicja and his sisters Honorata, Kamila and Dominika, his mother-in-law Lidia, sisters-in-law Daria and Justyna, brothers-in-law Sebastian and Tomasz and all extended family members. May Damian's gentle soul rest in peace.

Damian will repose in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon on Wednesday, July 10 at 5pm with prayers at 5.30pm. Funeral Mass and burial will take place in Poland at a later date.

Alex O'Neill, Drumlish, Gubadorish, Leitrim

The death occurred on Monday, July 8, 2024 of Alex O'Neill, Drumlish, Gubadorish, Leitrim in his 93rd year. May he rest in peace.

Cremation has taken place privately by Alex's request

Fr Peter Thompson, Blackrock, Cork / Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred unexpectedly but peacefully at the African Missions, Blackrock Road, Cork on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 of Fr Peter Thompson, Society of African Missions, Blackrock Road, Cork late of Scramogue, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by his parents Packie and Winnie [née Egan], his brothers Frank, Donal and Padraig. Deeply regretted by his sisters Mary Ann Gahan, Betty Wordingham, Una Conry and his brother Johnny, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, the people of the Archdiocese of Benin City and the Diocese of Issele-Uku, Nigeria, the Diocese of Elphin, Ireland, and his confreres in the Society of African Missions.

Reposing at the African Missions House, Blackrock Road, Cork on Thursday, July 11 from 5pm to 7pm, with Rosary at 7pm. Removal at 11am to St Joseph’s SMA Church, Wilton, Cork, T12 E436, on Friday, July 12 for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in the community cemetery. Joe Luis Marroquin, Houston, Texas, USA and, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath

The death occurred following an accident on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 of Joe Luis Marroquin (ret., Bellaire and Harris County Police Departments, Texas and formerly US Marine Corps), Houston, Texas, USA and Castlepollard, Co Westmeath. Joe will be sadly missed by his loving wife Katherine, sons Patrick and Marcus, daughters Megan and Morgan, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, cousins, relatives and a large circle of neighbours and friends. May Joe Rest In Peace.

Removal on Saturday, July 13 to the Church of St John the Baptist, Whitehall, arriving for 12 noon Funeral Mass (family flowers only, please), followed by cremation at the Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Cavan, arriving for 2.30pm service.

Rose Anne McAree (née Lynch), St Benan's Villas, Laytown, Meath / Roscommon / Drumsna, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a short illness on Sunday, July 7, 2024 of Rose Anne McAree (née Lynch) St Benan's Villas, Laytown, Co Meath and formerly of Derreenannagh, Co Roscommon and Drumsna, Co Leitrim.  

Predeceased by her husband John, her son Noel and sister Maureen. Beloved mother of Maureen, Sean, Hughie and Angela. Sadly missed by her family, grandchildren Danielle, Aoife, Shannon, Aidan and Andrew, great-grandson Bobby, sister-in-law Rita, Alice, Brian and her Home Instead carers, especially Brenda, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. My she rest in peace.

Reposing at her home on Thursday evening, July 11 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning, July 12 at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Laytown with burial afterwards in Reilig Mhuire, Piltown. Lloyd Edwin Philpott, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Joseph’s Care Centre, Longford on Thursday, July 4, 2024 of Lloyd Edwin Philpott, Sussex, England/ Longford. Predeceased by his wife Patricia (Pat). Lloyd will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughter Sarah McGuire (Moydow), son Dennis (UK), sisters, brothers, daughter-in-law Kathleen, son-in-law Declan, grandchildren Kirsti, Charlotte, Liam, Abbie and Shannon, his three great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. At rest.

A private funeral will take place in England at a later date.

Rosetta Reehill (née Reilly), Clonoose, Ballyheelan, Kilnaleck, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of Fountains Care Home, Rainham, London on Monday, June 24 of Rosetta Reehill (née Reilly) Clonoose, Ballyheelan, Kilnaleck, Cavan. Former Labour Party councillor candidate in Upminster.

Predeceased by her Late husband Gerry Reehill of Longford Town, her sister Anna and brothers Hugh, Packie, Jim & Eddie. Rosetta will be sadly missed by her daughter Loretta, son-in-law John, Velvet, loving friends, family, sisters Kay and Josie, brother John, sister-in-law Kathleen, brother-in-law Andy, all her extended family, friends & neighbours.

Hannah Josephine Brennan (née O’Regan), Strokestown, Roscommon / Shanballymore, Cork

The death occurred peacefully at home, after a short illness, on Friday, June 21 of Hannah Josephine Brennan, (nee O’Regan) of Hornchurch, Essex, England. (Formerly of Carrigleagh, Shanballymore, County Cork). Predeceased by her parents James and Ellen, her husband Patrick (Carrowclogher, Strokestown), daughter Annette, and sister Brid. A dear mother to Helen and Martin. A loving sister of Margaret, Eileen, and Mary. Sadly, missed and lovingly remembered by her family. Grandchildren; Ryan, Erin, Megan, Niamh, Edward, Isobel, and Martha, and her great grandchildren; Henry, George, William, Charles, and Jacob, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, and friends. May She Rest in Peace. 

The funeral will take place in Hornchurch, Essex. Requiem mass at St Mary Mother of God Church, on Friday, July 26, at 11am followed by burial at Upminster Cemetery, Ockendon Road, Upminster, Essex. The family would like to request in lieu of flowers, that donations can be made to either St Francis Hospice or Marie Curie.
