Eileen Concannon (née Tansey) Forgney, Moyvore, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home, after a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 of Eileen Concannon (nee Tansey) Forgney, Moyvore, Longford and formerly Boyle Co. Roscommon. Predeceased by her beloved husband Mark, sister Maura, brothers Joe and Donal and her son-in-law Bernard. Sadly missed by her son Mark, daughters Maureen, Patricia, Theresa, Breege and Evelyn. Her grandchildren Charlie, Ian, Anthony, Breen, Jane, Michael, Daniel, Louisa, Tara, Niamh, Connor, Ellen and Joni. Great grandchildren Liam, Megan, Robyn, Sophia, Noah and Joleen. Sister-in-law Noreen Prendergast and brother-in-law James McCormack. Sons-in-law Charlie, Dave, Jeff, Ian and Bernard (deceased) nieces, nephews, relations and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing on Sunday evening, May 26 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception Forgney at 5pm until 7pm with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, May 27 at 11am followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Margaret Gannon, formerly of Kilcommock, Kenagh, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 of Margaret Gannon formerly of  Kilcommock, Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Daniel and Annie and also by her sisters Nuala and Teresa. Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sisters Mary, Anne and Kitty, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, May 24 at 10.30am in St Camillus Nursing Centre Chapel, Killucan (N91 VF51). A private interment will take place afterwards.

Carmel Ghee (née Dunne), Lisduff, Longford Town, Longford / Moylough, Galway

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 of Carmel Ghee (née Dunne), Lisduff, Longford and formerly of Cooloo, Moylough, Co Galway. Predeceased by her parents John and Julia, brothers Sean, Patsy and Mick, sisters Kitty Monaghan and Maura Dunne and by her beloved husband Mick. Carmel will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sons Tony and Robert, daughter-in-law Michelle (Shaw), sister Julie Furnival (Stoke-on-Trent), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, May 26 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Helen Hanley (née Morahan), Fisherstown, Clondra, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 of Helen Hanley (née Morahan), Fisherstown, Clondra, Longford. Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, sister Patricia and by her brothers Thomas and Roderick. Helen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Tracey and Michelle, sons Kevin and Peter, sons-in-law Brian and Marc, grandchildren Callie, Lauren, Blaise, Sonny, Brooke, Ryan and Lexi, nephew Matthew and his wife Sinead, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Sr Julia Costello, DMJ Los Angeles and late of Newtowncashel, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 of Sr Julia Costello, DMJ , Los Angeles and late of Cleraun, Newtowncashel, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents James and Nellie, brother Jimmy, sister Bridget (Scally) and infant sisters May and Julia. Deeply regretted by her sister Celine Chapman (Kenagh), nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and by the congregation of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph. May she rest in peace.

Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Tuesday, May 28 in the Mary and Joseph retreat Centre Chapel, Los Angeles with interment afterwards.

Annette Costello (née Hagan), Karol Avenue, Elphin, Roscommon / Scramogue, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully, in care of the staff at UCH Galway surrounded by her family on Monday, May 20, 2024 of Annette Costello (née Hagan), Karol Avenue, Elphin, Roscommon and late of Drinagh, Scramogue, Roscommon. Much loved mother of Claire and Seán. Annette will be very sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving daughter Claire, son Seán and their father Michael, brother Jerry, sisters Dympna Condon, Bernie Browne, Eithne McFarlane and Rita Bennett, Claire’s partner Oli, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her Parents Annie T. and John Joe Hagan and her nephew Jerry. May Annette’s soul rest in eternal peace.

Reposing at Brady’s Funeral Home, Elphin on Thursday evening, May 23 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Friday morning, May 24 to St. Celilia’s Church, Curraghroe, via Drinagh, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12noon. Annette will be laid to rest afterwards in Cloontuskert Cemetery. The Costello and Hagan families are grateful for your sympathy, prayers and support at this time.

Stephen McCormack, Scramogue, Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family and in the tender loving care of Roscommon Hospice staff on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 of Stephen McCormack, Gortlustia, Scramogue, Co Roscommon / Ardakillan, Tulsk and London.

Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Eileen and his sister Maureen, Stephen will sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Siobhan, Jarlath and Oonagh and their mother Sheila, his darling grandchildren Criomhthann and Thomas, sisters Patricia, Eileen, Jacinta and brother Gerry, sister-in-law Mae, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, relatives and many friends. Reposing at Leavy’s Funeral Home Scramogue F42 FD78 on Friday evening, May 24 from 6 to 8 pm with removal for Requiem Mass to the Church of Saints Ethna and Fidelma Tulsk on Saturday morning, May 25 for 10am with burial afterwards in Tulsk Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to the Roscommon Hospice c/o Kieran Leavy undertaker or direct to Roscommon Hospice.

Thomas (Tommy) Flannery Ballinamore, Leitrim / Glenties, Donegal

The death occurred on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 of Thomas (Tommy) Flannery, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, and formerly Ardun, Glenties. Tommy is survived by his son Declan, daughters Mairead, Helen and Michelle and their mother Margaret, sons-in-law, partners,grandchildren, brothers Billy, Denis, Paddy , Tony and sisters Veronica, Mary and very dear friend Dorothy. Predeceased by his parents Bridget and Denis, sisters Ann, Tina and baby Elizabeth and brother Bernard. 

Tommy’s remains reposed at Shovlins Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara on Thursday, May 23 from 5pm until 7pm. Followed by removal to Vincent and Mairead Cranley’s home for family and close friends. Funeral Mass on Friday morning, May 24 at 11am in St Connell's Church, Glenties followed by cremation at Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan at 4pm. Cecilia Breslin (née McLoughlin) Birmingham and formerly of Kiltycreevagh, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of St Joseph’s care home Coleshil, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 6, 2024 of Cecilia Breslin, (nee McLoughlin) Hall Green, Birmingham; and formerly of Kiltycreevagh, County Longford, Ireland. She will be sadly missed by her beloved daughters Cecilia and Margaret, sons Brendan and Arnold, daughters-in-law Maria and Anne, grandchildren, her brother Brendan and all of her extended family and friends.

Liam Banahan, Garadice, Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, in the wonderful care of St. Prelim's Nursing Home, Dromahair, May 22nd 2024, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 of Liam Banahan, Garadice, Mohill, Leitrim. Predeceased by his sisters Kathleen, Elish and brother Michael. Deeply regretted by his twin brother Sean, sister Maura, sister-in-law Joy, brother-in-law Seamus, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends. May Liam's Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

The death occurred peacefully in the King George Hospital, London surrounded by his family after a long illness bravely borne of Peter Shanley, Dernasmallon, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim / Chingford, London. Predeceased by his parents James/Margaret and his sister Carmel. Predeceased by his wife Eileen and his son Trevor. Sadly missed by his son, Richard (Roz) and daughter, Sinead (David) and his grandchildren, Darcey, Ethan and Cayden. Beloved son of the late Sue and Paddy, Mullaghmore and cherished brother of Hugh (Mary), Mick (Rose), Geri (David), Susan (John), Anna Rose (Eugene), Robert and Paul.       The death occurred suddenly in Birmingham, England on Saturday, May 11, 2024 of Paddy Fahy, Birmingham, England & formerly of Elphin Street, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Son of the late Dessie and Sheila Fahy. Predeceased by his father & mother, sisters Concepta, Audrey and Sharon. Paddy will be sadly missed by his sorrowing family, Lena, Dympna, Patricia, Desmond, Jacqueline, Paul, Adrian, Elaine and Declan, Paddy's partner Sabrina, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and many friends in both England and Ireland. Rest In Peace.

      The death occurred after a short illness on Friday, May 3, 2024 of Catherine Cribbens (nee Devine) Keston, Kent, England and formerly of Barrack Street, Granard Co. Longford. Predeceased by her husband Frank, son Timothy and sister Margaret Boyce. Sadly missed by her sons Nicholas, Jonathan and Simon, her brother James Devine, Mullingar and her sister Anne Donohoe, Creevey, Granard, her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
