Priscilla Carmel Clyne (née Dowd (Granard)) 16 Harbour Row, Longford Town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Wednesday April 10, 2024 of Priscilla Carmel Clyne (nee Dowd (Granard)) 16 Harbour Row, Longford town. Predeceased by her parents and her 21 siblings, James, John, David, George, Christy, Oliver, Colm, Paschal, Patrick-Joseph, Tommy, Patrick-Oliver, Joseph, Brendan, Molly, Sarah, Philomena, Sally, Maria, Rose-Ann, Kathleen and Christina and her dear grandson Odhrán. Priscilla will be sadly missed and always remembered by her loving family, her husband and best friend Gerry, daughter Rose, sons Peter, Jerry and Martin, her beloved grandchildren Christopher, Peter, Charlene, Owen, John, Zena, Zara, Zack, Davin and Marcus, great-grandchildren Selina, Amelia, Archie and Grace. nieces (Ann & Rose), nephews, relatives, neighbours and dear friends. Your memory is a keepsake, With which we'll never part, God has you in his keeping, We have you in our hearts. May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
Priscilla will repose in her home on Thursday, April 11 from 5pm until 7pm, for family, close friends and neighbours only. Funeral cortege will arrive at St Mel's Cathedral, Longford on Friday, April 12 for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm which can be viewed HERE. Following Mass, Priscilla will be laid to rest in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Brendan McCreanor London and formerly of Templemichael Terrace, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred on Thursday, April 4, 2024 of Brendan Anthony McCreanor, London and formerly of Templemichael Terrace, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary France, sister, brothers and by his dear son Brendan. Brendan will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his darling daughter Frances and her mother Mary-Jo, son-in-law Tony, daughter-in-law Louise, his beloved grandchildren, sister Marie, brothers Kevin and Clement, nieces, nephew, relatives and good friends. May he rest in peace.
Brendan’s funeral will take place in London.

Andrew Jackson, Mullolagher, Longford Town, Longford / Ballycastle, Mayo

The death occurred on Monday, April 8, 2024 of Andrew Jackson, Mullolagher, Longford Town, Longford / Ballycastle, Mayo  aged 19 years. Recently predeceased by his dear father Walter. Andrew will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his dear family, mother Mary, sister Ella, grandparents Walter and Betty Jackson (The Glen, Ballycastle, Co Mayo), aunts, uncles, relatives, cousins and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Thursday, April 11 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, April 12 in St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Kathleen (Kay) Keating (née Carroll) Derryad, Killashee, Co Longford / Celbridge, Kildare / Walsh Island, Offaly

The death occurred peacefully in the loving presence of her family and the wonderful care of the staff of Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe on Monday, April 8, 2024 of Kathleen (Kay) Keating (née Carroll), Derryad, Killashee, Co Longford and formerly Celbridge, Co Kildare and Walsh Island, Co Offaly.  Deeply regretted by her husband Michael, son Cormac, Cormac's partner Catherine, brother's Mick & Walter, sister's Meave & Breda, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and her many friends. May Kay rest in peace.
Reposing at Farrell's Funeral Home Lanesboro (N39 E761) on Tuesday, April 9 from 6pm to 8pm. Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan on Wednesday, April 10. Burial of ashes will take place at a date to be announced in Walsh Island Cemetery.

Leonie Gibson (née McGrath) Abbeycartron, Longford Town, Longford / Brownshill, Carlow

The death occurred peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Saturday, April 6, 2024 of Leonie Gibson (nee McGrath), Abbeycartron, Longford and formerly of Brownshill, Carlow. Predeceased by her parents James and Doreen, sister Dolores, brother John and by her brother-in-law Frank. Leonie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband Tony, daughter Shena Elliott, sons Michael and Alan, sister Mary, daughters-in-law Dani and Edel, son-in-law Declan, grandchildren Dylan, Sam, Aoife, Eírrin, Lucas and Bruno, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, son Padraic, daughter-in-law Tara, grand-daughter Claire, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred, peacefully, in her 93rd year, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, April 1, 2024 of Bridget Mary (Maura) Mahon (née Shaughnessy), Melbourne, Australia and formerly of Corneddan and Lettergunnell, Ballinalee, Longford. Bridget Mary is predeceased by her husband John Mahon, her parents James and Bridget Shaughnessy, her brothers Jimmy, Joe Pat, Mickey, Colm, her sisters Patricia, Elizabeth, Katie, Teresa. Bridget Mary will be forever missed as an adored mother to Mary, Anne, John and Caroline and much cherished grandmother to Michael, Jethro, Christian James and Gabrielle. Bridget Mary will have a private funeral in Melbourne on Friday, April 12. A Memorial Mass to remember Bridget Mary in Longford will take place on Saturday, April 13 at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs, Killoe, Co Longford.

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his wife and the nurses and staff of Cavan General Hospital on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 of Joseph (Joe) Mitchell, Drumgunny, Aughavas, Co. Leitrim. Predeceased by his brother; Robert (Bob) and his sister; Louie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife; Eva, brother-in-law; Louis (Gortletteragh), nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Safe in the arms of Jesus.
Joe's remains will arrive for Funeral Service to Carrigallen, Church of Ireland on Thursday, April 11 arriving at 3pm followed by interment to adjoining Churchyard. Joe's wife and extended family appreciate your sympathy and support at this time.

Thomas (Tom) McGovern, Carrick Road, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 of Thomas (Tom) McGovern of Carrick Road, Drumshanbo and formerly Kilmaghera, Leitrim, Co Leitrim. Beloved husband of Una (Gibbons) and treasured father to Stephanie, Aideen, Hugh, Orla, Paul, Martina, Shane and Colm. He will be sadly missed by his children, sons in law, daughters in law, his adored grandchildren, his sisters Philomena and Margaret, his brother Pat, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his brothers John James, Joe, Frank and sisters Chris and Rose. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at his home (N45 H521) on Thursday, April 11 from 4pm until 8pm. Family time on Friday morning, April 12. Removal on Friday morning, April 12 from his home to St Patrick's Church Drumshanbo for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery.

The death occurred suddenly on Saturday, April 6, 2024 of Paddy Dunican, The Square, Kilbeggan, Westmeath. Predeceased by his parents, Paul and Crissie. The death occurred peacefully at the residence of her daughter Rosemary and son-in-law Noel Kiernan in her 97th year surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 7, 2024 of Susan McKeon (nee Lynch), Drumbreanlis, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim and formerly of Clooncliva, Mohill, Co Leitrim and Kibberidogue, Rosslea, Co Fermanagh.Predeceased by her husband Tom, parents Joe and Elizabeth, brothers and sisters John-Joe, Felix, Pat, Kevin, Vera and Dympna. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving daughters Rosemary Kiernan (Carrigallen) and Eilish McNabola (Eslin, Mohill), sons-in-law Noel and Edward, adored grandchildren Brian, Colm, Orla, Edel, Ashling, James, Sinead and Thomas, brother and sisters Agnes, Teresa, Rosemary, Patricia and Tierney, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends. Karl Meehan, Multyfarnham, Westmeath / Rathowen, Westmeath / Tallaght, Dublin

The death  occurred unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 of Karl Meehan, Multyfarnham and Rathowen, Co Westmeath and formerly of Bancroft, Tallaght, Dublin. Karl will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family, his daughters Sarah and Gina, their partners Naomi and PJ, his adored grandchildren Bobby and Addison, brother Peter, sister Clodagh and his extended family of many friends.
