Kathleen Forbes (née Burke) Derry, Ballymahon, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 of Kathleen Forbes (nee Burke), Derry, Ballymahon, Co Longford and formerly Ballyglunin, Co. Galway.  Predeceased by her husband Bill. Deeply regretted by her children, Anne, Helen, William, Nuala and Robert, her daughter in law Helen, all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.
House private please and family flowers only. 
Funeral service this Good Friday, March 29 at 11am in St Matthews Church Ballymahon followed by burial in Shrule cemetery.

Stella O'Sullivan (née Murphy) Gurteengar, Lanesboro, Co Longford, N39 E378

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family while in the compassionate care of the wonderful staff at the Mater Hospital on Monday, March 25, 2024 of Stella O’Sullivan (nee Murphy), Gurteengar, Lanesboro, Co Longford. Beloved wife of Brendan, much adored mother of Amy, Danny & Lara and cherished nana of Cadhla. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Eithne, Oliver and Claire, son in law Brian, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and by her many wonderful friends. May Stella Rest In Peace.
Reposing at her home Gurteengar, Lanesboro, Co. Longford, N39 E378 on Wednesday, March 27 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Service on Thursday, March 28 in St Mary’s Church, Lanesboro, Co Longford at 11.30am. A private cremation service will take place afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium at 2pm. Funeral Mass can be viewed HEREFamily flowers only please. Donations, if desired can be made to Irish Lung Fibrosis Association.

Ita Reilly (née Noone), Main Street, Newtownforbes, Longford


The death occurred peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024 of Ita Reilly (née Noone), Main Street, Newtownforbes, Longford.  Predeceased by her parents Michael and Sarah, sisters Mary, Tess, Phyllis and Beryl, brothers Joe and Anthony and by her beloved husband Peter. Ita, a devoted and cherished mother to daughter Jacinta, sons Tony, PJ, Michael and Paschal. Ita will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughter, sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at her residence (N39 X7H2) on Wednesday, March 27 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral Liturgy on Thursday, March 28 in St Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes at 11am, interment afterwards in Newtownforbes Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to C.O.P.D. support Ireland and The Irish Heart Foundation c/o Glennon Funeral Directors or any family member. The death occurred peacefully at home on Monday, March 25, 2024 of Seamus Flynn, Curroole, Newtowncashel, Longford. Predeceased by his parents, sisters Sr Lucy, Annie-Mai and Sr Kathleen, brothers Fr Johnny and Mike and by his beloved wife Teresa. Seamus will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughters Helen and Emer, son James, sister Liza, daughter-in-law Linda, sons-in-law Joe and Larry, grandchildren Éadaoin, Ciara, Áine, Niamh, Luch, Roisín, Seamus, Tom and Julie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Wednesday, March 27 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Funeral Liturgy on Thursday, March 28 at 11am in the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel. Interment afterwards in Cashel Cemetery. Maureen Fox (née Kiernan), Claremont, Glasnevin, Dublin / Dring, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, daughter Anne, granddaughters Kelly Ann, Ella and Pippa the dog, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 of Maureen Fox (née Kiernan) (Nana Moe), Claremont, Glasnevin, Dublin and formerly of Cloonagh, Dring, Co Longford. Predeceased by her loving husband Terry and her two brothers Seamus and Martin. Maureen will be forever loved by her daughter, granddaughters, her sister Elizabeth and brother Johnny, her nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing at her home on Tuesday, March 26 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 27 at 10.30am in St Columba's Church, Iona Road. Elizabeth Lilly Rothwell (née Casey) Clontarf, Dublin / Ballynacargy, Co Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of St Francis Hospice, Raheny on Sunday, March 24, 2024 of Elizabeth Lilly Rothwell, (née Casey), Clontarf, Dublin formerly Ballynacargy, Co Westmeath. Beloved wife of the late Tommy; lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children Gerry, Declan, David, Barry and Elizabeth, daughters-in-law Deborah and Alla, grandchildren Jennie, Lynn, Alison, Stephen, Irene, Alex, Alina, Heather and Tom, her sister Bernie, nieces, nephews, relatives and her many friends. The death occurred suddenly, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 of Niamh Hand Watervale, Rooskey, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by her brother Darren and father-in-law Kevin. She will be sadly missed by her partner Eamon, daughter Amy May and son James, her mother Maureen, father Tom, sisters Sandra and Sharon, her brother Stuart (Mallet), all her nieces and nephews and her wide circle of friends. May her gentle soul. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at the Community Centre, Rooskey, N41 F9C2, from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday, March 26 with a small service from 7.30pm. Removal from her residence on Wednesday, March 27 for cremation ceremony in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, H12RF78 at 1pm. The service can be viewed online HERE House strictly private please. Mary Byrne (Beirne) (née Carley) Legan, Kilglass, Roscommon

The death occurred, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the doctors and staff at Sligo University Hospital, surrounded by her family in her 94th year on Sunday, March 24, 2024 of Mary Byrne (Beirne) (née Carley), Legan, Kilglass, Co. Roscommon. Predeceased by her loving husband, Tom Joe and her brothers Michael, Anthony, Paddy and James. Much loved mother of Rita McHugh (Mullagh), Tommy (Culleenaghmore) and Padraic (Ennis) (Clonberne) and her dear sister Nellie Mullaney (Culleenaghmore). She will be very sadly missed by her family, son-in-law Noel McHugh, daughters-in-law Ann(Nevin) and Denise(Finnegan), her grandchildren, Cathal, Ciara and Croía, her great grandchildren Noah and Rían and Ciara's partner, Keith (Banahan). Also her nieces, nephews, her sister-in-law Agnes Carley and extended members of the Byrne (Beirne) and Carley families, relatives, neighbours and many good friends. May Mary Rest In Peace.
Reposed at McHugh's Funeral Home (F42 RK72), Strokestown, on Tuesday, March 26 from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The Funeral Cortège will leave Mary's residence on Wednesday morning, March 27 to arrive at Sacred Heart Church, Kilglass for 11:30am mass. Burial afterwards in Kilglass new Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Roscommon/Mayo Hospice c/o Tully's Funeral Directors or any family member. The family have requested that the house is private at all times.

Frances Heslin (née Mullally) Beechview, Jonesboro, Carnaross, Meath / Finea, Cavan
The death occurred peacefully at Moorehall Lodge Drogheda, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 of Frances Heslin (nee Mullally), Beechview, Jonesboro, Carnaross, Kells, Co Meath and formerly Kilgola Finea, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her daughter Edwina, grandson Oisin, son in law Brian, her parents Thomas and Rose, siblings Phyllis, Kit, Noel, Liam and Rhodie. Sadly missed by her loving husband Eddie, children Caroline, Rosemary, Julie and Edward, grandchildren Rebecca, Liam, Brian, Shane, Niall, Eimear, Jack, Leah, Fionn. Her great grandchildren Connor and Caoimhe. Brothers in law, sisters in laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and a large circle of friends. May She Rest In Peace.

Removal arriving to St Ciaran's Church, Carnaross on Saturday, March 30 for 1.30pm Funeral mass. Interment afterwards in Finea Cemetery. House private at all other times please. Family flowers only.

The death occurred at Beaumont Hospital on Friday, March 22, 2024 of Shane Nangle, Howth Road, Raheny, Dublin 5, and formerly of Cornaroy, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his wife Josephine, brothers, Gerry and Brian. Sadly missed by his daughter Deirdre Ferguson (Leitrim), sons, John and Derick, brothers Mel and Frank, daughters-in-law Gail and Monica, son-in-law Tommy, grandchildren Daire, Corey, Sonny, Lyra and Oscar, sisters-in-law, Ann, Philly and Mary, nephews, nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours. Rest In Peace.Reposing at the residence of his daughter, (Deirdre Ferguson, Leitrim Village), on Monday, March 25 from 5pm for family, close friends and neighbours. House private on Tuesday, March 26 please. Removal to St Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo, on Tuesday, March 26 to arrive at 6pm.
