The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at the Autumn Lodge St Joseph's Hospital, Longford on Sunday, February 11, 2024 of Sean Tracey, Aughgreagh, Aughnacliffe, Longford. Deeply regretted by his loving daughter Sharon/John Dowd, sons Brendan, Jason/Olivia, Nigal/Geraldine, and their mother Marion. Brothers Michael, Seamus, Charlie, Conor and Brian. Sister Rose Mc Dermott. Sisters in law, brother in law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives friends and neighbours. RIP. 
Reposing at Our Lady's Manor, Edgeworthstown on Monday evening, February 12 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 13 at 12 noonin Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee. Followed by burial in St Emer's cemetery, Ballinalee. House private please. John Denning, Derrycasson, Dring, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the company of his beloved family and in the loving care of the staff of the Lisdarn Unit, Cavan on Friday, February 9, 2024 of John Denning, Derrycasson, Dring, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth and sisters Kathleen, Nell and Bridget and brothers Paddy, J.P. and Tommy. Sadly missed by his brothers Ollie (Olive), sisters Julia (P.J.), and Mary (Packie Joe), nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing in Reilly's Funeral Home, Kilcogy, Co Cavan N39W1D6 on Saturday evening, February 10 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday, February 11 at 1pm in St Columba's Church, Mullinalaghta with burial immediately afterwards in the local cemetery. House private please. Kate Barnard (née Madden), Cappaghduff, Tourmakeady, Mayo / Loch Gowna, Cavan


The death occurred peacefully in the care of her devoted family on Saturday, February 10, 2024 of Kate Barnard (née Madden), The Old Barracks, Cappaghduff, Tourmakeady, Co Mayo (formerly Bolton, Manchester and Loch Gowna, Co Cavan). Predeceased by her husband Albert and sadly missed by her loving family; Christina, Kevin, Margaret, Seamus and Paul, daughters-in-law Carmel and Patricia, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and a large circle of good neighbours and close friends. RIP. 
Reposing at Lakeland Funeral Home, Cavan (H12RF78) on Tuesday, February 13 from 5-7pm with removal to the Church Of The Holy Family, Loch Gowna to arrive for 7.30pm. Kate's requiem mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 14 at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Marie Celine Magill (née Murray), Ferefad, Longford Town, Longford
The death occurred peacefully in her 90th year on Friday, August 11, 2023 of Marie Celine Magill (nee Murray), Middlesex, England and formerly of Ferefad, Longford. Marie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughter Sharon, son Kieran, grandchildren Megan, Emily and Ronin, and by the Taddle, Linnane and Murray families. May she rest in peace. 
A memorial mass will take place in St Mel’s Cathedral at 10am on Tuesday, February 13 followed by the interment of ashes alongside her dear parents and sisters in Ballymacormack Cemetery. The Mass will be streamed live please go to www.longfordparish.com

Ann Gillett (née Connaughton), The Oaks, Belgard Heights, Tallaght, Dublin / Longford


The death occurred peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters on Friday, February 9, 2024 of Ann Gillett (née Connaughton), The Oaks, Belgard Heights, Tallaght, Dublin / Longford. Predeceased by her father Johnny and mother Bridie (nee Farrell, Lisnacusha, Lanesboro). Ann will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, beloved husband John, dear daughters Janine, Lisa, Leanne and Lydia, sister Maura, sons-in-law Denis, Ari, Paul and David, grandchildren Ben, Matthew, Ciara, Donnacha, Lewis, Áine, Alexa, Jamie, Aishling, Rory, Ariana, Jessie and Conor, extended family, relatives and friends.May she rest in peace.

Theresa Purcell (née Kelly) Church Road, Clara, Offaly / Granard, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore on Thursday, February 8, 2024 of Theresa Purcell (nee Kelly) Church Road, Clara, Offaly and formerly of Granard, Co. Longford. Predeceased by her loving husband Bernard, her parents, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. Theresa will be deeply missed by her brother in law Jimmy, nephews, nieces and extended members of the Kelly and Purcell families. May Theresa's soul rest in peace.
Reposing at O'Reilly's funeral home on Saturday, February 10 from 4pm to 5.45pm, followed by removal to St Brigid's Church, Clara, arriving at 6.30pm. Colette Brennan (née Daly) Knocklyon, Dublin / Streete, Co Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 of Colette Brennan (née Daly) late of Knocklyon, Dublin and formerly of Streete, Co Westmeath. Beloved wife of Michael, loving mother of Paul, Peter, Mark and the late Francis and devoted grandmother to Emma, Sarah, Niamh, Theo and Laura, predeceased by her brother and sisters; she will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters-in-law Nancy, Helen and Karen, grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends. The death occurred peacefully in the tender loving care of St Joseph's Care Centre, Sunset Lodge, Longford, following an illness bravely borne with great courage and dignity on Friday, February 9, 2024 of James Lynn, Monaghanstown, Castletown Geoghegan, Co Westmeath and formerly Empor, Ballynacargy. Predeceased by his parents William and Philomena Lynn. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Margaret, brothers Liam, Gerard and Patrick, sisters Helena Dobson (Longford) and Cathriona Callaghan (Mullingar), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, father and mother-in-law James and Mary Ryan, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May James Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 of Mary Pedley (née McKenna), Ballyfermot, Dublin and formerly of Lanesboro, Co Longford. Predeceased by her beloved husband John and her son John. Mary will be very sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Elizabeth, Maria, Catherine and Eileen, sons Edward and James, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her adored grandchildren Declan, Lisa, Alannah, Naoise, Blathnaid, Norah, Mai, Aaron Carrie, Eoin, Richard, Karl, Connor, Laura and Gavin, great grandchildren Heidi, Aaron, Shay, Cody, Kaelin, Badb, Ray and Charlie, brother-in-law, niece, extended family, friends and neighbours. Mary will be reposing in Stafford's Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 13 from 3pm to 5pm. Removal on Wednesday morning, February 14 to St Matthew’s Church, Ballyfermot arriving for 11.30 am Funeral Mass followed by a Cremation Service in Stafford's Funeral Home Ballyfermot at 1pm. The death occurred peacefully in Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe surrounded by her loving family after a long illness borne with dignity on Friday, February 9, 2024 of Genevieve Ganly, Kilkenny West, Glasson, Athlone, Westmeath. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Annie, sisters Elizabeth (Betty), and Carmel, and brothers Patrick (Paddy) and James and also her life long friend Eamon Glesson (Bealnamulla). Genevieve will be greatly missed and remembered with love by her brothers TJ (Tubberclair), Willie (Clane), Oliver (Ballydowd, Lucan), sisters-in-law, Ann, Mary, Rose and Catherine, brother-in-law Richard, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May She Rest In Peace.

Arriving at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tubberclair on Sunday, February 11 at 10.45am followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of the nursing staff at Sheelin Nursing Home, Mountnugent on Friday,
February 9, 2024 of Bridget Brennan, Moynagh, Finea, Co Westmeath / Cavan.
Predeceased by her parents, brothers John, Packie and Jimmy, sisters Annie and Mary. Sadly missed by her brother Tommy, sister Kathleen Fitzgerald, sister in law Sadie, brother in law Pat, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully in Mullingar General Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 8, 2024 of William (Willie) Nugent, Slattabeg, Rooskey, Roscommon, N41 TR60. Predeceased by his parents William and Katie. William will be greatly missed by his wife Joan, daughters Katie and Siobhan, his sister Mary (Bolton), his brother Michael and sisters-in-law Bridie (Birmingham), Sheila (UK), brother-in-law Jimmy Mullaney, nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Reposing at his residence in Slattabeg, Rooskey, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Roscommon (N41TR60) on Sunday afternoon, February 11 from 3pm to 6pm. Removal to St Anne's Church, Slatta arriving for 7pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 12 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Kilglass new Cemetery.

    Bernadette Edwards (née Mimnagh) Loughton, Essex and Ballinalee, Co Longford


    The family of the late Bernadette Edwards (nee Mimnagh) of Loughton, Essex who passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 in London, would like to thank most sincerely all those that sympathised with them on this sudden loss.
    Predeceased by her Mother and Father, John and Josie Mimnagh, Ballinalee, Longford, she leaves behind loving husband Andrew and their sons, Matthew and David. Sadly remembered by her brothers Sean, wife Geralyn and Tony, and nephews and nieces, Katie, Sean, Aileen, Niamh and Jane. 
    Funeral will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Parndon Wood Crematorium, Harlow, Essex at 2.30pm.

    The death occurred suddenly, at her residence in Burnham on Crouch, Essex on Sunday, January 28, 2024 of Berna Casey, Burnham on Crouch, Essex and late of Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by her beloved partner, Pat, her loving parents Frank and Lil, her sister Teresa and infant brother Edward.
    Sadly missed by her loving family, brothers - Jimmy and Francis, sisters - Marie (Carroll), Eilish (Casey- Boyce), Martina (Williams) and Jackie (Leonard), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, colleagues and a wide circle of friends. May She Rest In Peace.
