The death occurred following an accident on Sunday, January 21, 2024 of James (Jimmy) Rowe, No. 10 Slí Na Móna, Ballymahon, Longford, N39 FF98 / Tuam, Galway. Sadly missed by his loving mother Catherine, partner Bernie, daughters and sons, sisters and brothers, stepfather, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends. Rest in peace.
Jimmy will repose this Wednesday, January 24 in Tuam (161 Clochrán, Kilcloghans, Tuam, Co. Galway, H54 C866) from 5pm to 8pm. He will repose on Thursday, January 25 in Ballymahon (No. 10 Slí Na Móna, N39 FF98) from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass is Friday, January 26 at 12 noon in St. Matthew's Church, Ballymahon. The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 of Eugene Prunty, 'Eden House', Newtownforbes, Longford, N39 CY96. Predeceased by his parents Mary Lizzie and Ownie and by his brothers John and Peter. Eugene will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Eileen, daughters Debbie and Lorraine and their partners, sons Eddie, Eugene and John and their partners, grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Ronan, Eddie, Lauren, Aaron, Lottie, Ava, Maisy and Lily, brother Billy, great-grandchildren Jake, Kayden, Baily and Sophie, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at his residence (Main Street, Newtownforbes – N39 CY96) on Wednesday, January 24 from 5pm until 8pm. Mass of The Resurrection on Thursday, January 25 in St Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes at 12 noon, interment afterwards in Newtownforbes Cemetery.

Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Kate. Sadly missed by his brother Frank, sisters Mary, Teresa and Anna, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives and friends. The death occurred peacefully in The Downe Hospital on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 of Marie McFlynn (née Ginty), Newcastle, Co Down and formerly Castlewellan, Co Down and Ballinamuck, Co Longford. Dearly beloved wife of the late Patrick and cherished mother of Fr Gerald, Rita, Phyllis, Eamon, Paul, Martin, Mary, and Clare.
Marie's remains will leave her late home 13 Merrion Avenue, Newcastle on Thursday, January 25 at 11.15am to arrive at St Malachy’s Church, Castlewellan for 12noon Requiem Mass, burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Aughlisnafin. On her soul sweet Jesus have mercy. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing daughters, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and entire family circle. Evelyn Sweeney (née Donlon), Phibsborough, Dublin / Ardagh, Co Longford


The death  occurred peacefully in the tender care of the staff of Ardmore Care Choice Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 20, 2024 of Evelyn Sweeney (nee Donlon), Late of Killarney Parade, Phibsborough, Dublin and formerly Ardagh, Co. Longford. Beloved wife of the late Michael and devoted mother of Billy, Martin and Terry. Evelyn will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister Betty, sons, daughter in law Avril, Martin’s partner Wallace and Terry’s partner Áine, her cherished grandchildren Eleanor, Jessica and River, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Beloved husband of Carmel. Predeceased by his sisters Mae and Úna and brother Dan, parents Elizabeth and Michael. Dear father of Aidan, Áine, Phelim, Ultan and Fergal. Sadly missed by his loving sons, daughter, daughters-in-law; Helena, Christina, Linda, Ciara, grandchildren; Oisín, Niamh, Siobhán, Izette, Ciara, Oscar, Ross and Ronan, great-grandchild Fia, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Predeceased by Andy and Tim. Deeply regretted by her loving family, her sisters-in-law, her nieces and nephews, her step children, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.

The death occurred peacefully at St. Joseph's Care Centre, Longford on Saturday, January 20, 2024 of Philomena (Mena) Macken (nee Kiernan) Robinstown, Granard, Co Longford, native of Killina. Predeceased by her husband Tommy, daughter Elizabeth, parents Charlie and Elizabeth, brothers John Joe, Patrick and infant brother Charlie, sister Mary, niece Maura. Mena will be sadly missed by loving family, Breige (Edgeworthstown), Patsy (Kilmore, Clondra), Mary Jo (Dernacross), Vera (Abbeylara), Angela (Gortletteragh), Thomas (Granard), sisters Anne and Kathleen, brother Kevin, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, her adored 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Bartley and sister Mary. Loving wife of Pat. Deeply regretted by her adoring husband Maurice, their children Gerard, Con, Patrick, Lila, Jean, Helen Anne, Peter and Monique; their partners Sinéad, Karen, Roslyn, Johnny, Dave and Richard; her beloved grandchildren Olwen, Evan, Sam, Robyn, Archie, Robert, Roscoe, Caoímhín, Juno and Maurice; sisters Jean and Norah; brother-in-law; nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The death occurred peacefully in the loving tender care of the management and staff at Oakwood Nursing Home, Roscommon on Sunday, January 21, 2024 of Sr Richard (Alicia) Dufficy, Dun Mhuire, Athlone, Roscommon and formerly of Boyle and Tulsk, Co Roscommon.
Predeceased by her parents Dick & Sarah and her brother Jerome (Sligo). Sr Richard will be sadly missed by her sorrowing brothers Ritchie (Limerick) and MJ (Limerick), sister Sr Chris, sisters-in-law Evelyn, Betty and Máire, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, Sisters of Mercy Western Province and her many friends. The death occurred peacefully at Kings College Hospital, London on Thursday, January 4, 2024 of Bernadette (Bernie) Youngs (nee Cusack), London and formerly of Garrymore, Ballinagh, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her husband Martin Youngs. Much loved mother of Shane and Siobhan Youngs. Sadly missed by her granddaughter Erin Youngs, her brother Owen Cusack and sisters Kathleen Coyle, Agnes O’Connor, Rose O’Shea and Frances Foy, her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing in St Mary of the Crays Church, Crayford on Wednesday, January 31 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral service at 10:30am on Thursday, February 1 followed by cremation at Eltham Crematorium at 12:30.
