Dessie Hynes, Rosslare Strand, Wexford / Dublin / Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred, peacefully at his residence, on Saturday, December 2, 2023 of Dessie Hynes, Rosslare Strand, Co Wexford and late of Longford Town and Baggot Street, Dublin (semi-retired publican). Beloved husband of the late Celine and loving father of Thomas, Gerardine, Tony, Therese, Paul, Aideen, Winter, Kevin, Nina, and the late Annette, brother of Allyson and the late Evelyn, Maura and Paddy; sadly missed by his family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, his twenty grandchildren, his four great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. RIP.
Funeral Mass on Monday, December 4 at 1.30pm in St Brigid’s Church Rosslare Strand, burial afterwards in The New Cemetery Tagoat. Family funeral and all are welcome.

The death occurred, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Our Lady's Manor, Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, December 2, 2023 of Daniel (Danny) Breslin, Esker, Ballinalee, Longford. Former employee of Bord Na Móna. Predeceased by his parents William and Alice, brother William and sister-in-law Mary.
Danny will be sadly missed by his family, brother Patrick, nephew Paul, nieces Alison and Pauline and her husband Thomas, grandnephews and grandnieces, Thomas, Mary, Kathleen and Thomas, relatives, neighbours and friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace Danny.
Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, N39 KN66, on Tuesday, December 5 from 5.30pm concluding with prayers at 7pm, followed with removal to St Mary's Church, Ennybegs for prayers at 8pm. The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, December 1, 2023 of Joseph (Joe) Dolan, 'Fairview House', Curry , Kenagh, Longford. Predeceased by his parents William & Elizabeth, brother Fr. Leo & sister Aileen. Joe will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his loving wife Anna-May (née O' Reilly), beloved daughter Anne-Marie Mitchell (Kildare), son-in-law Owen, brother Billy (Kenagh), grandchildren Zoe, Kian, Noah and Ollie, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mary Anne, brother James, nephew Kieran and grandnephew AJ.

The death occurred, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness bravely borne, on Sunday, December 3, 2023 of Michael Moran, Lakeview, Cloone Village, Cloone, Co. Leitrim and formerly of Cattan, Annaghmore, Co. Leitrim. Predeceased by his parents; John and Mary.

The death occurred, peacefully, in the care of Wexford General Hospital, on Friday, December 1, 2023 of Tom Boyle of Ramsgrange, Co Wexford. (originally of Dromod, Co Leitrim, subsequently a much loved member of the community in Navan Co Meath). Deeply missed by his beloved wife, Phyllis, his children, Siobhán, Niamh, Órla, Tomás, Aisling, Clíona and Bláthnaid, his sons and daughter in law, his 12 grandchildren Ríain, Cathal, Thomas, Eimear, Áine, Caoimhe, Liam, Saoirse, Cian, Róisín, Senan and Faolán, and his extended family and friends.

Very Rev Fr Peter Brady, Legan, Co Longford

The death occurred on Thursday, November 30, 2023 of Very Rev Fr Peter Brady, Legan and formerly of Derryharrow, Longford, former President of St Mel’s College.  Predeceased by his parents Peter and Kate, brother Philip and by his sister Margaret McLoughlin. Fr Peter will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, brothers Packie, Eamon and Tommie, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, by the Bishop, Priests and Religious of the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise, relatives and friends. Fr Peter will repose at St Mary’s Church, Legan, on Saturday, December 2 from 2pm concluding with prayers at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday, December 3 at 2pm, interment afterwards in Legan Cemetery.

The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his family, aged 85, on Saturday, November 11, 2023 of Joseph Lloyd, late of Hall Green, Birmingham, formerly of Forgney, Ballymahon, Longford. Predeceased by his wife Bridget, sisters Rosie, Bridie and Maureen, and brothers Tom, Sean and Pat. Much loved by sons Joseph and John, daughter-in-law Sue, sisters Dympna (London), Sarah (Moate), and Kathleen (USA), brothers Bill (Birmingham), Matt (Dublin), Mike (Forgney), and Christy (Surrey). He will be deeply missed by all family and friends.
Reception into Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Yardley Wood, Thursday, December 14 at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, December 15 at 11.00am, followed by burial at Robin Hood Cemetery. Flowers welcome, or donations, if desired, to the Birmingham Irish Association, via collection at the church.
