Mary Ledwith (née Reynolds), Ballinrud, Granard, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully at home surrounded by her family following a life filled with energy, humour, positivity, and kindness, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 of Mary Ledwith (née Reynolds), Ballinrud, Granard, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Michael, Josephine and her brother John. Mary will be forever remembered by her husband Danny, sons Enda, Donal, Peter and Michael. Daughters in law Amanda, Elaine and Peter's partner Alek. Her brother Eamonn, sisters Josie and Michelle and sisters in law. Her adored grandchildren Maria, Dylan, Anna, Darragh, Michael and Oliver, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends. May She Rest In Peace.
Reposing in The Manor, Edgeworthstown, on Friday, October 13 from 5pm-8pm. Funeral mass on Saturday, October 14 in St Bernard's Church, Abbeylara at 1pm, followed by interment in Carra Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Palliative Care Longford.  C/o Paschal Masterson Funeral Director or any family member.  House Strictly Private Please.

Monsignor Harry Doyle, Ballinulty, Dring, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, on Friday, September 22, 2023 of Monsignor Harry Doyle, Retired Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Exeter, England and formerly of Ballinulty, Dring, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Maria, sister Maureen Plunkett, Tohernaross, Kilcogy, Co Cavan. Sadly missed by his brother Tom, Ballinulty, nephews, nieces, his fellow Clergy and a large circle of friends. May Monsignor Harry Rest in Peace.
A Mass to celebrate Monsignor Harry’s life will take place in the Sacred Heart Church, South Street, Exeter, on Friday, October 13 at 2pm. Monsignor Doyle will be repatriated to Ireland for Funeral Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Purth, Co Longford N39YX93 on Sunday, October 15 at 1pm. Burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Kathleen Glennon (née Seery), Rockfield, Streamstown, Westmeath, N91EF68 / Abbeyshrule, Longford

The death occurred, peacefully at the Hermitage Clinic, Lucan, surrounded by her devoted family, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 of Kathleen Glennon (née Seery), Rockfield, Streamstown, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and also Cloughan, Abbeyshrule, Longford. Predeceased by her mother Rose, father Patrick, husband Christy, son Kevin, sister Bridie.  She will be sadly missed by her loving family, daughter Michelle Farrell (Abbeyshrule), her adored grandchildren Gillian, Shane and Hazel, son-in-law Brian, nephews, nieces, wonderful neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May Kathleen's Soul Rest In Peace.
Reposing at her home in Rockfield (N91 EF68) on Friday, October 13 from 4pm until Rosary at 7pm.  Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 14 at 11am in St Peter and Paul's Church, Horseleap with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. A special word of thanks to the management and staff at the Hermitage Clinic Lucan.

John (Jack) Magee, Rathfarnham, Dublin / Edgeworthstown, Co Longford


The death occurred peacefully after a long illness, in the company of his loving family, while in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff at St Gladys Nursing Home, Harold’s Cross on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 of John (Jack) Magee, Rathfarnham, Dublin/ Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.
Beloved husband and best friend of Maeve, adored father of Bróna, Conor, Dermot, and Emer, sadly missed by his wife and children, daughters-in-law Mairéad and Monika, sons-in-law John and Patrick, treasured grandchildren Niamh, Shay, Liam, Áine, Fiona, Sinéad, Ciara, Róisín, Aoibhín and Brendan, brother Joe (Margaret), sister Mary (Séan), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May he Rest in Peace.
Jack will repose at Fanagans Funeral Home, Willbrook Road, Rathfarnham on Thursday, October 12 from 5pm to 7pm. Richard (Risteard) O'Hagan, Cressil, Tydavnet, Monaghan, H18EY67 / Athenry, Galway / Longford


The sudden death occurred on Saturday, September 16, 2023 of Richard (Risteard) O'Hagan in Perth, Australia and formerly of Creesil, Tydavnet, Co. Monaghan. Predeceased by his father Aidan, his grandparents Liam & Noreen Hoare (Athenry), Joe & Anna O' Hagan (Longford) and his Uncle Michael Hoare (Swords). Richard will be dearly missed by his mother Mary, his sister Noírín, his partner Clare, Mary's stepmother Evelyn, his uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, friends, neighbours and all who knew and loved him. Richard will repose at his family home (H18EY67) on Thursday, October 12 from 3pm until 8pm. Richard's funeral procession will arrive at St Mary's Church, Urbleshanny, Scotstown, on Friday morning, October 13 for 12 noon funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The sudden death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his heartbroken family in St. Vincent’s Private Hospital Dublin, following an illness, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 of Patrick McCormack, Ardnacraney, Tang, Ballymahon, Co Westmeath and formerly of Perth, Australia. Forever loved and missed by his heartbroken wife Angie and adored son Daniel, his devastated parents Billy and Mary, mother in law Ana Maria, sisters Linda (Brennan) and Caroline (Colgan) and brother Thomas, grandmother Nancy McCormack, brothers in law Martin Brennan and Niall Colgan, brother and sister in law Danilo and Liseth, nephews Colm, Rory, Leo, Aaron, Cormac and nieces Alexandra, Michel, Sara and Alana, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends both at home and in Australia. May Patrick rest in eternal peace.
Reposing on Friday, October 13 from 5pm to 8pm at his parents home, Ardnacraney House, Tang, Ballymahon, Co Westmeath (N39 W652). Arriving for funeral mass at 12pm on Saturday, October 14 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tang (N39 VY58). Burial afterwards in Temple Valley Cemetery, Tang.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Hermitage Clinic on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 of Kathleen Linnane (nee Murray), Ferefad, Longford town. Predeceased by her parents, sisters and brothers. Kathleen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Jimmy, daughters Fiona and Paula, sons-in-law Michael Kealy and Tom Lawlor, grandchildren Avril, Emma, Oscar and Yvonne, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, dear neighbours and friends. The death occurred on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 of Annie Reynolds, Cornadrung, Aughnacliffe, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Annie, brothers Michael, Paul and Sean. Sadly missed by her daughter Tina, son-law Mark, grandchildren Maddy, Emily and Lauren, brothers Tommy, Paddy, Noel, Kevin, Leo, Cathal, Francis and sister Eileen and extended family. The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 of Thomas (Tommy) Moffatt, Dernafest, Loch Gowna, Cavan. Predeceased by his parents James and Bridget. Tommy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sisters Mary (Kentucky) and Bridget (New York), brothers Liam (New York) and Michael (London), brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and a wide circle of friends. The death occurred peacefully, after a long illness, bravely borne, in the care of the Acute Unit, Sligo General Hospital on Monday, October 9, 2023 of Patrick (Pat) Bohan late of Adoon, Gorvagh, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim, and formerly of Rathedmond Estate, Sligo. Patrick is predeceased by his loving parents, James and Rose, and his beloved brother Leo. Patrick will be profoundly missed by his loving family - sisters Rosemary and Bernadette, brother-in-law Michael, nieces Lorraine and Nadine, nephew Trevor, relatives, neighbours and a wide range of friends. Reposing at St Patrick Hospital, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim, on Wednesday, October 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Removal arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Mohill, Co. Leitrim at 7pm. Funeral Mass at 12pm on Thursday, October 12 followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The death occurred suddenly, and peacefully, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 of Agnes Colette Kiernan (née Gregg) late of Creenagh, Newtownforbes Longford and New York. Predeceased by parents Agnes and James. Sadly missed by her husband Seamus, daughter Siobhan, son James, sisters Marie Collum, Ballinamuck and Betty Barry, Edgeworthstown, brother James, Creenagh brothers in law Kevin and Michael and sister in law Ann, nieces, nephews, grandniece, grandnephew, extended family, neighbours and friends in both Ireland and America.

The death occurred peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 9, 2023 of Betty (Elizabeth) Murphy (née Corr) of Annaghmacullen, Cloone, Co. Leitrim and formerly of Gulladoo, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim.
Predeceased by her parents; Bernard and Katie, her daughter Deirdre Anne, brothers; John, Patrick, Eugene, Frank, Bernard, her sister; Kathleen Steadman, brother-in-law; Ron Steadman and her sister-in-law; Anne Corr. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband; Michael, daughter; Carmel, sons; Michael and Barry, daughter-in-law; Madeleine, grandchildren; James, Grace and David, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
