Iris Devine (née Walsh), Dun Laoghaire, Dublin / Granard, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, with her family by her side, in the wonderful and kind care of the doctors, nurses and care team at St Vincent's Private Hospital, on Thursday, September 7, 2023 of Iris Devine (née Walsh), Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin and formerly of Granard, Co Longford and late of Devine's Bakery. Beloved wife of the late Kevin (November 2022) and loving mother to Conor and David and sister to late Andre. She will be sadly missed by her sons, her adored grandchildren Morgan, Jules, Anna-Julia and Madeline, daughters-in-law Niav and Marcia, sisters Dolores, Siobhan, Lorraine and Veronica, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.
Funeral Mass on Monday, September 11 at 10am in St Michael’s Church, Dun Laoghaire, followed by cremation in the Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, D6W. Family flowers only please. 

Siobhan Harrison (née Reilly), Shannow, Ballinagh, Cavan / Redhills, Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, September 8, 2023 of Siobhan Harrison (nee Reilly) Shannow, Ballinagh, and formerly Redhills Village. Deeply missed by her heartbroken husband and best friend Fergal, her adored daughters Caitlin and Aoife, parents Teresa & Eamon, sisters Michelle & Fiona, parents in law Geraldine & Eamon, sister in law Ciara, brothers in law Matt, Donal and John, nieces Clodagh, Caoimhe & Ava, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbours. Rest In Peace.
Reposing privately at her parents home in Redhills on Saturday evening. Reposing on Sunday, September 10 at Briody's Funeral Home Kilnaleck (A82 DX59) from 4pm to 7pm.  Removal from her home on Monday, September 11 to St. Michael's Church, Potahee arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to The Irish Cancer Society c/o Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck. House private Monday morning please.

Bridget Philomena O'Sullivan, August 27, 1938  -  September 6, 2023


Our Dear Mother, Bridget Philomena O’Sullivan (nee Harte), sadly passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 85. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, Michael O’Sullivan, who passed away in 1999. She is survived by her children, Michael (Tracy) O’Sullivan, Cathy O’Sullivan, Christopher (Deirdre) O’Sullivan and Mary (Terry) Daly. She was a devoted Nana to Maura Daly, Ailish O’Sullivan, Cara Daly, Aidan O’Sullivan and Rory Daly.
She came from a loving family in Ireland ( a native of Ballinamuck Co. Longford). She will be missed by her sister, Mary McEvoy. She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Felix Harte and her sister, Betty Fitzmaurice. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bridget’s memory can be made to Calvary Hospital (click HERE to donate) or the Aisling Irish Community Center (click HERE to donate).
The family will be present on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 2 PM - 6 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Services- 732 Yonkers Avenue- Yonkers, New York 10704. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 AM on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Saint Barnabas Church, 409 East 241st Street, Bronx, New York 10470. Following the Mass, Bridget will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.

Catherine Hevehan (née Costello), Clonmee, Lanesboro, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Newbrook Nursing Home, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 of Catherine Hevehan (née Costello), Clonmee, Lanesboro, Longford. Predeceased by her parents and by her beloved son T.J. Catherine will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Patrick, daughter Mary, sister Celia, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, September 10 from 12 noon until 2pm, followed by removal to The Church of the Blessed Virgin to arrive at 3pm for Mass of the Resurrection, interment afterwards in Cashel cemetery. Sr Brigid Maguire, Lisnacreevagh, Colehill, Longford

The death occurred, peacefully, in Paramount, Los Angeles, USA, in the loving care of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph Community, on Sunday, September 3, 2023 of Sr Brigid Maguire, Lisnacreevagh, Colehill, Longford. Predeceased by her sisters Sr. Margaret and Mary Jane and her brother Michael. Sadly missed by her nephew Ciaran Kavanagh, Daughters of Mary and Joseph Community, cousins, relatives and friends. Rest in peace.
Funeral will take place in Los Angeles in due course. 

Paddy McHugh, Augha, Rooskey, Roscommon, N41PK03


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the tender care of the staff at Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Rooskey, on Thursday, September 7, 2023 of Paddy McHugh, Augha, Rooskey, Roscommon, N41PK03. Predeceased by his sister Kathleen and her husband Liam.
Paddy will be sadly missed by his wife Margaret, sons Seamus and Damien, daughters Teresa and Geraldine, daughter-in-law Bernie, sons-in-law Alan and Darren, grandchildren Emily, Matthew, James, Adam, Georgia and Charlie, nephews, niece, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Rest in Peace.
Paddy will repose at his home in Augha on Sunday, September 10 from 2pm until 6pm. (Please park at Kilglass Gael's GAA Pitch (N41 YC44) and avail of shuttle bus which will run between these times). Removal to Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Rooskey arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, September 11 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Kilglass Cemetery. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis uasal.

The death occurred peacefully, in the care of the staff of Mayo Roscommon Hospice surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 7, 2023 of William (Willie) Nugent, Cloonfour, Rooskey, Co Roscommon. Deeply regretted by his brother John and John's wife Essie, nephews James (Bernie), Pio (Helen), grandniece Sarah, grandnephew Matthew, Cousins, relatives, carers, neighbours and many friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing in Leavy's Funeral Home, Scramogue (F42 FD78), on Sunday evening September 10 from 5-7pm. Removal to Church of the Sacred Heart, Whitehall, arriving at 7:30pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, September 11 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Kilbarry cemetery.

Patrick (Pat) Scully, Cloonmorris, Bornacoola, Leitrim / Longford


The death occurred peacefully at St James Hospital, Leeds in the presence of his family on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 of Patrick (Pat) Scully Morley, Leeds, UK, formerly Cloonmorris, Bornacoola, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his brothers John and Thomas (Sonny) and his sister Eileen (O’Reilly, Abbeylara, Longford). Deeply missed by his beloved wife Anne (nee Brett, Kilkelly, Mayo), sons Vincent, John, Adrian and Malcolm, daughters-in-law Claire, Julie and Natalie, grandchildren Heather, Amelia & Eleanor, sister Maeve (Leahy USA), his nephews, nieces, neighbours and many friends. May Pat Rest in Peace.
Patrick’s Funeral Mass and Interment will take place in Morley on Wednesday, September 13.

Margaret (Maggie) Fagan (née Gallagher) Trumroe, Castlepollard, Westmeath, N91 EE33


The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Thursday, September 7 of Margaret (Maggie) Fagan (nee Gallagher) Trumroe, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath, N91 EE33. Predeceased by her son Eoin and her father Tom. Deeply missed by her heart broken husband Eugene. Devoted mother to Ciaran and Ciaran's girlfriend Aoife, step sons Charles and Shane, her mother Ann, brothers Eugene and Daragh, sisters Jess, Sinéad and Louise, sisters in-law Margaret, Dellie and Orla, brothers in-law Cathal, Mick, Seamus and Martin, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, extended family and a wide circle of wonderful friends. May Maggie's gentle soul Rest in Peace.
