Vincent & Elizabeth Tierney, Granard, Longford / Killoe, Longford


The deaths have occured of Vincent & Elizabeth Tierney, 39 School Lane, Kettering North Hants NN16 0DH. Elizabeth, on August 14, 2023 and her husband Vincent, on August 31, both surrounded by their loving family. Elizabeth aged 97 (nee Campbell) late of Aughaboy Killoe, Co.Longford and her husband Vincent aged 93 of Main Street Granard, Co Longford. Elizabeth & Vincent will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by their sons Vincent, Val and Laur. Daughters Helen and Elaine. Sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Elizabeth's brother John Campbell and his wife Kathleen. Vincent's sister in law Mary Tierney (Buttlersbridge). Nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.
A Joint Funeral has been arranged for Thursday, September 7 at 11am in St Edward's Church, Kettering with removals previous evening at 4pm. 
Following cremation Elizabeth & Vincent will return to Granard with Mass at St Mary's Church, Granard to celebrate their wonderful, happy lives and burial afterwards to the Tierney family grave at Granardkille old cemetery.
Arrangements will be updated when available.

The death occurred on Saturday, September 2, 2023 of Martina Ryan, Ballyclare Court, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon and formerly of Monksgrange, Clonmel, Co Tipperary. Funeral Arrangements Later

Mona Crowe (née Hearney), (formerly of Redhills and Scotshouse) Drumlion, Ballinagh, Cavan, H12 X4W7


The death occurred, peacefully, on Saturday, September 2, 2023 of Mona Crowe (née Hearney), (formerly of Redhills and Scotshouse) Drumlion, Ballinagh, Cavan, H12 X4W7. Former Principal of St Clare's National School, Cavan Town. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Rosaleen, sister Kay, brother-in-law Martin (Ann), sister-in-law Philomena and grandson Connor. Sadly missed by her loving husband and best friend Gus, daughters Orla and ​​Eimear, sons Joseph (Aishling), Trevor (Linda), Gavin (Deirdre) and grandchildren Aoife, Lucy, Grace, Joseph, Jack, Annie, Fionnán, Ríona, Siún, Noah, Freya, Tomás and Odhrán, sister Ursula (Steve), brother-in-law Mick, nephews and nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at her home in Drumlion H12 X4W7 on Sunday, September 3 from 2pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Monday,  September 4 in St Michael's Church, Potahee, at 3pm followed by a private cremation. No flowers or cards, please. Donations, if desired, to Trócaire. By request, walk through only.

Jennifer (Jenny) Cullen (née Russell), Lanna Aoibhinn , Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, on Thursday, August 31, 2023 of Jennifer (Jenny) Cullen (née Russell), Lanna Aoibhinn , Longford Town, Longford. Jennifer will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Eddie, daughter Andrea (U.K.), son Anthony (Dunboyne) and Paul (U.K.), son-in-law Neil, daughter-in-law Rosemarie, grandchildren Adam, Niall, Darragh and Fodla, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford (N39 EC81) on Sunday, September 3 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, September 4 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, followed by Cremation at Lakelands Crematorium at 2pm. Patrick (Pat) Casey, Tallaght, Old Bawn, Dublin / Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff in Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold's Cross, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 of Patrick (Pat) Casey, Old Bawn, Tallaght and formerly of Battery Road, Longford. Beloved husband of the late Catherine and devoted and loving dad to Paul, Denise, Naomi, and Lyndsey; Pat will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving family, children, his adored grandchildren Seán, Zarah, Elyssa, Laura, Freya, Amelia, Isaac, Daisy and Sadie, daughters-in-law Joanne and Stefania, sons-in-law Darren and Shane, sister Mary, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. May Pat rest in peace.
Reposing at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, The Square, Tallaght (opp Tallaght Stadium) on Monday, September 4 from 4pm to 6pm. A service to celebrate Pat’s life will take place on Tuesday, September 5 at 2:30pm in the Chapel in Newlands Cross Crematorium followed by cremation.

Tommy Donnelly, Lake View, Cloongarvin, Strokestown, Roscommon
The death occurred peacefully at Mullingar General Hospital on Friday, September 1, 2023 of Tommy Donnelly, Lake View, Cloongarvin, Strokestown, Roscommon. Tommy will be sadly missed by his sorrowing brother Anthony, sister Patsy, cousins, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Tuesday, September 5 from 5pm until 6.30pm. Removal to the Half Parish Church to arrive for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 6 at 11am. Burial afterwards in Clooncraff Cemetery.

Margaret Gaffney, Acres, Ballinagh, Co Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital of Margaret Gaffney, Acres, Ballinagh, Co Cavan on August 23, 2023. Predeceased by her two brothers and five sisters. Sadly missed by Brendan, Ann, Andrew, and Lisa, McBreen, relatives, neighbours and many friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Finnegans Funeral Home and Crematorium Dublin, Road Cavan on Saturday evening, September 2 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday, September 3 in St. Felims Church, Ballinagh at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Sheila Edwards (née McNamee) Cloone, Co Leitrim


The death occurred at Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 1, 2023 of Sheila Edwards (nee McNamee) Gubbs, Cloone, Co Leitrim and formerly of Drumkeeran, Cloone, Co Leitrim and Harrow, London.
Predeceased by her husband Peter and sister-in-law Kitty.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her brothers Liam (Maureen), Tommy (Breege), Joe, Denis (Teresa), sisters Gertie (Micheal) and Eileen (Seamus), Aunty Gertie, Claire and Matthew Edwards, nephews, nieces, her adored grandnephews and grandnieces, friend; Jimmy, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends. May Sheila’s Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
Sheila will repose at Smith's Funeral Home High Street, Ballinamore (Eircode N41 TD62) on Saturday, September 2  from 5.00pm – 8.00pm. Removal from her residence (N41 HD37) on Sunday afternoon, September 3 at 1pm to arrive at St Mary’s Church Cloone, Co Leitrim for funeral mass at 1.30pm followed by private cremation to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Please note that there will be no 10am mass in Cloone on Sunday morning, September 3. Robert Michael Cooney, Carpenterstown, Castlepollard, Westmeath


The death occurred on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 of Robert Michael Cooney, Carpenterstown, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.  Beloved youngest son of Patrick and Kathryn, partner of Alison and dear brother of Patrick and Jennifer. Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, partner, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandmother Valerie, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and his many, many friends. Reposing at his home in Carpenterstown, Castlepollard (N91 A891), in the loving embrace of his family, on Saturday, September 2 from 3pm to 7pm. House private at all other times. Removal on Sunday, September 3 to St Feichin’s Church, Fore, arriving for 2pm Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Pat Lynch, Cormore, Arva, Co Cavan
The death occurred peacefully at St. James' Hospital, Dublin on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 of Pat Lynch, Cormore, Arva, Co Cavan.
Predeceased recently by his nephew Pat. Deeply missed by his brother Jimmy (Dublin), sister-in-law Nancy, nieces, nephews, extended family and many neighbours and close friends. 
Pat will repose at Lakelands Funeral Home, Cavan (H12 RF78) from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Sunday, September 3. His requiem mass will take place at 11am on Monday, September 4 in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Arva (H12 RY96) with burial afterwards in Loch Gowna Cemetery. May his soul rest in peace.

Bridget Teresa McKeon (née Daly), Aughnacliffe, Co Longford


The death occurred on Thursday, August 3, 2023 of Bridget Teresa McKeon (née Daly), Chadwell Heath, Essex, late of Forest Gate, London and Manchester and formerly of Aughnacliffe, Co Longford.
Beloved wife of Francis (Frank). Devoted mother to Francis, Anthony and Paul. She will be sadly missed by her husband, sons, sister Philomena (Fox), sister-in-law Rose Reilly, her cherished grandchildren Keeleigh, Daniel and Holly, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and her many friends in London, Manchester and Co Longford. May she rest in peace.
Removal from Smith's Funeral Home, Granard (N39AX97) on Thursday evening, September 7 to St Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford (N39K603) arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, September 8 at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.
