Anne Garrahan (née Orohoe), Clonbraney House, Kenagh, Longford, N39 KX74


The death occurred, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, May 11, 2023 of Anne Garrahan (nee Orohoe), Clonbraney House, Kenagh, Co Longford. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband Donal, her precious great-grandson Fionn, her brothers John-Joe, Liam and Mel and by her sister Rita. Anne will be greatly missed by her loving family, daughters Deirdre Mooney and Sheila O’Keefe, sons Patrick and Donal, daughters-in-law Celina and Mary, son-in-law Cyril, sister Celine Gayan (U.K.), her heartbroken grandchildren Marissa, Louise, Anita, Louise, Anita, Conor, Bryan, David, Shane, Niamh and Jolie, her 9 adored great-grandchildren in Ireland and Canada and by her extended family, great neighbours and many friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at her residence (N39 KX74) on Saturday, May 13 from 4pm until 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Sunday, May 14 in St Dominic’s Church, Kenagh at 1pm followed by cremation at Lakeland's Crematorium, Cavan at 4pm. The house is private to close family and friends outside of reposing times please. The Garrahan family would like to thank everyone for their understanding and support at this difficult time. Charles Bushell, Fairview, Dublin / Longford
The death occurred, suddenly, on Friday, May 12, 2023 of Charles Bushell, Longford, beloved son of the late Charles. Sadly missed by his loving mother Maura, sons Cathal and Cian, sisters Antoinette and Mary, brother-in-law Joe, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at the Kirwan Funeral Home, Fairview Strand on Sunday, May 14 from 3pm until 5pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Monday morning, May 15 in Church of the Visitation, Fairview at 11.30am. Funeral thereafter to Dardistown Crematorium, due at 1.30pm. Family flowers only please.

Mary Kelly (née Yorke), Moydow, Co Longford


The death occurred,  peacefully at Queens Hospital, Romford, Essex, England, on Saturday, May 6, 2023 of Mary Kelly, Upminster, Essex, England and formerly of Liscurry, Moydow, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Kathleen Yorke and her beloved husband Jim Kelly. Mary will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family son Paul, daughters Carmel and Claire, daughter in law, son in law, grandchildren, great grandson, sisters Kathleen Lenehan (Earl St, Longford), Annie Shaughnessy (Ballinalee), bother Jack Yorke (Moydow), nieces, nephews and her many friends. May She Rest In Peace.
Funeral will take place at St Joseph's Church, Upminster, Essex on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 10.30am with burial afterwards.

Nancy Lawrence (née McDonnell), MacEoin Park, Farnagh, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by her family in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Joseph’s Care Centre, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 of Nancy Lawrence (née McDonnell), MacEoin Park, Farnagh, Longford Town, Longford. Pre-deceased by her parents Paddy and Anne, sister Mary , brothers Joe and Johnny and by her beloved husband Michael. Nancy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family daughters Nancy, Helen, Mary and Kathy, sons Michael, Patrick, Bill and Tom, sisters Nellie, Lizzie and Kathleen, brothers Michael, Davy, Tom, Martin and Paddens, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, May 14 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 6pm followed by removal to St Mel’s Cathedral, arriving at 7pm. Peter Shortt, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim


The death occurred, peacefully at North West Hospice, Sligo, after a long illness, bravely borne, on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 of Peter Shortt, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim.
Predeceased by his loving mother Agnes and his son Ruairi. Peter will be sadly missed by his father Terry, his son Cathal, sisters Patricia & Mairead, brother Christopher, Cathal & Ruairi’s mother Martina, his brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and many friends. Rest in Peace.
Removal on Friday evening, May 12 to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballinamore at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 13 at 12 noon followed by burial in Aughavas New cemetery. House private please. JJ Dolan, Annaghbeg, Strokestown, Co Roscommon


The death occurred, suddenly at his home, on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 of JJ Dolan, Annaghbeg, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by his parents Gerard and Alice and more recently by his sister Bernadette Keenan (French Court). Much loved husband of Anne and loving father of Michelle, John, Edel, Maria and Peter and adored granddad of Eilish, Jamie, Killian, Saibh, Daniel, Siofra, Aisling and Shay. J.J. will be very sadly missed by his sorrowing wife and family, sons-in-law Sean and Ciaran, daughter-in-law Barbara, Maria's fiance Paul, grandchildren, sisters Maura, Annette, Martina and Rose, brother-in-law Matt, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. The death occurred, in the loving care of the nurses and staff of The Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown and late of St Jude’s Aughamore, Rooskey, Co Leitrim, on Thursday, May 11, 2023 of Nessa (Patricia) Hanley (nee Hoare), Rooskey, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by her husband Tony, sisters Florrie, Philomena and brother Gerard, sadly missed by her son Jimmy (Westport), Terri Shanley, Bornacoola, Marie Bolger, Rooskey, daughter in law Anne, son’s in law JJ and Peter, grandchildren Vanessa, John, Avril, Edel, Anthony, Crona, Pierce, Tony, James and Celine and her 10 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family following an illness, on Thursday, May 11, 2023 of Jimmy Halligan, Church Street, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath. Beloved husband and best friend to his wife Maura, loving father to his daughters Claire and Deirdre, doting Granddad to Sacha, Lyra and Darragh, and devoted brother to Paddy. Jimmy is sadly missed by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, brother, sons-in-law Fred and Daniel, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family and friends. The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the palliative care unit at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, surrounded by Michael and Chloé, on Thursday, May 11, 2023 of Richard (Reggie) Merriman, Freaghmore, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.
Predeceased by his loving wife Maureen and sisters Anne and May, Reggie will be sadly missed by Michael, Chloé, Olivia, Molly, Tadgh, sisters-in-law Helen (Nelly) and Patricia, cousins, relatives, neighbours and close friends. May Reggie Rest In Peace.
Reposing at the Mullingar Hospital Mortuary on Friday, May 12 from 5pm to 6.15pm, followed by removal to St Michael’s Church, Castlepollard, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 13 at 11.30am, with burial afterwards in St Michael’s Cemetery, Castlepollard.
