Thomas (Tom) McKeon, Smear Road, Aughnacliffe, Longford


The death occurred, unexpectedly, at Cavan General Hospital, on Friday, February 10, 2023 of Thomas (Tom) McKeon, Smear Road, Aughnacliffe, Longford. Predeceased by his parents, his brother Fr. Mike Mc Keon (Sacramento, USA) and his sister Mary-Ellen McGauran. Thomas will be greatly missed by his loving family; brothers Jim (Cork), Raymond and John-Joe (San Francisco), sisters in law Antoinette (Cork) and Mary (San Francisco), nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon's Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81), on Tuesday, February 14 from 5.30pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. The funeral cortege will leave the funeral home on Wednesday morning, February 15 travelling via Moyne Cross to arrive at St Colmcille's Church, Aughnacliffe for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Ann Cullen (nee Thorne), La Montagne, France and formerly Dublin Street and Deanscurragh, Longford


The death occurred of Ann Cullen (nee Thorne), La Montagne, France, daughter of the late William and Catherine Thorne Dublin Street and Deanscurragh, Longford. Ann died in Maulin's Centre Hospital La Montagne, France where she lived for over fifty years with her husband Terry.
She is survived by her husband Terry, formerly of Main St Longford, her brothers Mattie and Frank, relatives and friends.
A commemorative Mass will be held for Ann in St Mel's Cathedral on Sunday, March 12 at 10am.

Drummond Colett Taylor, Corboy, Edgeworthstown, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in his 91st year, in the care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 of Drummond Colett Taylor, Corboy, Edgeworthstown, Longford. He is predeceased by his parents Morrison and Kathleen. Drummond will always be remembered by his family, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and his many dear friends. Safe in the arms of Jesus.
Funeral Service on Monday, February 13 in St John's Church, Battery Rd, Longford, at 11am, followed with burial at 2.30pm, in Mount Jerome Cemetery, Dublin, eircode: D6W HY98.

Michael Dowler, UK and Abbeyshrule, Longford


It is with great sadness that we announce the passing, which occurred peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in Kettering General Hospital, of Michael Dowler, 1944-2023. Michael had so many memories of growing up in Abbeyshrule and the surrounding areas in Longford with his parents Michael and Kathleen Dowler and sister Nancy and cousin James Dowler. A loving Daddy to Nicola, Aileen, Kristine and Katie, grandad and friend to many. Funeral takes place in Saint Edwards Church, Kettering at 2pm on Friday, February 17, 2023.

William (Willie) Jnr. Kenny, Corlislea & Ballinagh, Ballinagh, Cavan


The death occurred, following a tragic accident in Swords, Co Dublin, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 of William (Willie) Jnr. Kenny, Corlislea, Ballinagh and late of Marian Row, Ballinagh, Co Cavan. Loving husband of Tammy, and dear Daddy of Tamzin, and William. Loving son of Tina, and Willie Kenny. Sadly missed by his brothers, and sisters Jacinta (Colin), Annmarie (Brendan), Linda (Terry), Elaine (Herbie), Christina (Kieran), Orlene (Padraig), brothers Tommy (Annmarie), Enda (Christina), father in law Robbie, mother in law Janice, brothers in law, sisters in law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

The death occurred, suddenly, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 of Lexie Casey, Cregga, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by his beloved children, son Shane and daughter Frances, and his parents Sonnie and Baby. Lexie will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family; wife and best friend Angela, his adored daughter Emma, brothers John, Vincent and Colm, sister Ann, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and many friends. Rest In Peace.

The death occurred, peacefully with her family by her side, in the exceptional care of the management and staff of Sonas Nursing Home, Ballyleague, on Sunday, February 12, 2023 of Angela Regan (née Butler), Derrinabruck, Cloontia, Ballymote, Co Sligo and formerly of Cloverhill, Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon.
Predeceased by her husband Frank, parents Paddy and Molly and her sister Maureen (Carty). Sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughter Patricia (Ronan), son Paul, brothers Thompson, John and George, sister Patsy (Cox), grandchildren Dylan and Saoirse, son-in-law Tom, Paul's partner, Emma, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May She Rest in Peace.
Angela will repose in the Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Wednesday, February 15 from 4.30pm. Removal at 6.45pm to St Colman's Church, Derrinacartha arriving at 7.30pm. (via Cloverhill). Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, February 16 at 11am, followed by interment in Carracastle Cemetery. The death occurred, peacefully, on Friday, January 13, 2023 of Noreen (Nora) Josephine Atkinson (Landy née Wallace), Ruislip, Middlesex, England and formerly of New Kiltoom, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and Louisburgh, Co Mayo. Beloved wife of Brian and the late Eamonn and dear mother of Paul and Louise. Noreen will be very sadly missed by her husband and family, son-in-law Gary, daughter-in-law Jackie, her cherished grandchildren Natasha, Heather, Aidan, Pearse and Christy, her brothers Anthony, Stephen and Tommy, sister Mary, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12 noon in the Church of St John the Baptist, Whitehall, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath followed by interment of ashes in the adjoining cemetery. The death occurred, after a long illness, on Monday, January 9, 2023 of Eugene Devaney, London and formerly Garvagh, Ballinalee, Co Longford.
