“Light the bonfires we’re coming home,” declared Mullinalaghta captain Shane Mulligan as the all-conquering history makers celebrated their triumph in today’s AIB Leinster Club Senior Football Championship Final.

Remarkably, in 1968 Longford won their only Leinster Senior Football Championship title and fifty years on, the county now has a club worthy to call provincial champions.
