Carrickboy and South Longford mourns death of respected business woman Eithne Lyons

Late Eithne Lyons (née O'Brien), The Park, Strandhill Road, Sligo Town, Sligo / Carrickboy, Longford

The death occurred, peacefully, of Eithne Lyons, (née O'Brien), The Park, Strandhill Road, Sligo Town, Sligo and formerly of Carrickboy, Longford and Ballykilroe, Co Westmeath on Sunday, December 2.

Eithne was predeceased by her husband Lally and together they owned the traditional and very successful post office, grocery and hardware business in Carrickboy for many years.

Following Lally’s death, Eithne moved to live with her daughters in Sligo where she resided until her death.

A very highly respected and friendly business family who went beyond the call of duty for their customers.

Funeral Mass took place in St Anne’s Church, Ballycloughan on Tuesday, December 4 and she was laid to rest in Abbeyshrule Cemetery. 

Sympathy is extended to her daughters Kathleen & Mary, brother Fr Tony (Columban Father), sister Marie, grandchildren Emer & Kevin, son in law Terence, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours & friends. May she rest in Peace
