Longford weather / motoring alert: Roads across county are treacherous after overnight snow
Roads across Longford are dangerous this morning after freezing temperatures and snow overnight.
Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution as snow is lying on many roads.
Some secondary roads in particular are being described as treacherous.
AA Roadwatch is reporting that parts of the N4 are in a bad condition and the Road Safety Authority are also warning about the dangers of black ice.

Following the conditions overnight, beware of black ice. Black Ice is a glossy surface & can cause a vehicle to skid. Avoid getting into a skid by slowing down; do not brake, ease your foot off the accelerator and use every control very delicately. #BlackIce pic.twitter.com/nzYt0kwC04
