Driver fails to remain at the scene as young man killed in two vehicle collision

A young man was killed following a collision between a truck and a car in Kildare on Tuesday night. 

The young man was a passenger in the car. The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Tuesday night, July 18 on the R403 in Celbridge, Co Kildare.

The collision involved a truck and a car and happened at around 10.50pm.

A passenger from the car, a man in his 20s, was fatally injured.  The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene.

The male driver of the truck, aged in his 30s was uninjured. 

The scene was preserved to allow for a technical examination, which was conducted on Wednesday morning.  

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
