Hospice Coffee Morning

This event will be hosted in Ennybegs Community Centre, Killoe after masses on Saturday 5/ Sunday 6 October. As always your support is greatly appreciated.


The village Inn Drumlish Co Longford are hosting a fundraising event on Saturday 12 October 2013 in aid of Carol Galvin who eight years ago was diagnosed with MS and currently confined to a wheelchair; and recently diagnosed with a chronic form of Lyme disease. Treatment for this disease is available in Germany at a high premium of 40000 euro. Carol lives in Athlone with her husband David and 6 year old daughter. Social dancing

Ennybegs Community Centre Killoe Social Dancing on Tuesday nights from 8pm – 10pm for a six week term with tutor Lilah Beatty. Everyone is very welcome.


A fundraising event will be held in Begley’s pub, Killoe on Saturday, 5 October with the view to citing a defibrillator in the Ohill/ Corneddan area. Persons in these areas and surrounding area all requested to train for use of same and can contact Tel 086 0266565/ 087 0524045 for further details.

Old graveyard

Booklets titled “Resting in peace in old Killoe graveyard” are now available including maps and location of headstones etc. Cost 5 euro each from Hughes shop, Ennybegs or Tel 043 3323191/ 087 9268585.

Doggie walks

Rosary rally and crusade

Event will be held in Emmet Og Gaelic football park Clonee Killoe Co Longford on Sunday 13 October 2013 from 3.15/5.45pm approx 3 miles from Longford town by-pass signage Ballinalee /Granard road. A number of prominent well known speakers and singers will be present to help inspire everyone on this very special occasion. Everyone is very welcome to this uplifting rally in thanks for favours received and requested. Light refreshments will be served on the day.

Arthritis Ireland

The Longford branch are holding an information evening in the Temperance Hall, Longford on Monday 7 October 2013 at 7pm to inform persons of new occupational therapy. Contact Lorella Doyle 086 68160080.

Church notes

St Marys Ennybegs Mass on Wednesday at 10am (First Friday Mass) Thursday Mass in St Theresa’s NS for opening of school year at 10am . Bishop Colm Reilly will visit school at 11am for presentation of gifts from pupils and staff to mark his retirement after 30 years as bishop of Diocese and patron of our Catholic schools. Friday 4th – no Mass (Wedding in Co Wicklow). All first Friday calls on Wednesday. Apologies for any inconvenience. Ordination of Fr Francis Duffy new Bishop of Ardagh/Clonmacnois Sunday October 6, at 3pm St Mary’s, Athlone.
