The flag erected by Welsh rugby supporters at the shrine to Ashling Murphy
A GROUP of Welsh rugby supporters visited the shrine to the late Ashling Murphy, the 22-year-old Offaly schoolteacher who was brutally murdered on January 12 last.
The fans erected a Wales flag at the shrine which is located beside the monument to Fiona Pender on the banks of the Grand Canal in Tullamore.
The fans spent the weekend in Tullamore where they watched the Ireland Wales rugby clash in a local public house.
Despite Ireland's resounding victory the Welsh fans remained in good spirits and true to their nation's reputation entertained patrons with a selection of ballads, many of them popular Irish airs.

The fans had followed news of Ashling's murder in their home country and decided to pay their tribute to her when holidaying in Tullamore.
They travelled from their accommodation on Sunday morning to pay their respects at the shrine.
