Funding for a new vehicle for the Longford based group has been welcomed

An €80,000 vehicle has gone towards Longford Scuba Divers

Funding for a new vehicle for the Longford based group has been welcomed by Senator Joe Flaherty.

 

He said: “ I was delighted to get word this morning from Minister Dara Calleary, approving €80k in CLAR funding to help secure a new vehicle for this important voluntary search and rescue organisation in Longford town. The new vehicle is one of 32 to be funded nationally.”

Longford Scuba Divers was founded in June 1989 by 23 divers from across the county. The club was created to bring together people passionate about diving while also providing an essential Search & Recovery service.

The  club is entirely member-run by volunteers, with a dedicated committee organising training, trips, events, maintaining equipment and much more.
