Local Enterprise Week 2025

Local Enterprise Week 2025 takes place from March 3 - 7, with events around County Longford for small businesses and entrepreneurs organised by Local Enterprise Office, Longford.

Longford’s Local Enterprise Week kicks off with an event Celebrating Longford’s Cosmopolitan Business Community which celebrates the many businesspeople from across the globe that have set up in County Longford.

Guest speaker at the event will be Conall Ó Móráin, a prominent business broadcaster and host of the ‘That Great Business Show’, which features insights and success stories from Irish businesses.

It takes place in the Longford Arms Hotel on Monday, March 3 from 8.30am-10am. This is a free event, however, booking via LocalEnterprise.ie/Longford is essential.

The week will conclude with the Tri-County Women in Business Event, taking place on Friday, March 7, ahead of International Women’s Day.

The event will see local businesswoman Niamh Parkes and her business Heartlands Orchard representing Longford at the panel discussion element of the day.

Heartlands Orchard produces preserves, chutneys and sauces from her orchard and gardens in Legan, County Longford.

Organised by Longford, Leitrim, and Westmeath Local Enterprise Offices, the event takes place in Mullingar Park Hotel from 10.30am-2pm. Booking via LocalEnterprise.ie/ Westmeath is essential.

Other events happening in Longford include One-to-One Accounting and General Business Advice Clinic (Tuesday, March 4), Export Readiness: Prepare Your Business for Customs (Wednesday, March 5), the County Enterprise Awards 2025 (Thursday, March 6), and Digital Marketing, Social Media and Brand Health Check Clinic (Friday, March 7).

Local Enterprise Week is a national initiative with hundreds of events organised by the countrywide network of 31 Local Enterprise Offices.

The events are open to all entrepreneurs, start ups and established businesses, with plenty of expert advice and networking opportunities available throughout the week.

It is supported by Enterprise Ireland and local authorities, including Longford County Council.

Speaking ahead of Local Enterprise Week, Longford County Council Head of Enterprise Michael Nevin encouraged local businesspeople to get involved.

Mr Nevin remarked, “Local Enterprise Week is a great opportunity to learn from business experts, with many free events taking place locally. I encourage budding entrepreneurs and those with more established businesses to come along and take advantage of these events happening on their doorstep.”
