The expert in anything was once a beginner! Finance Minister highly impressed with Longford training and innovation hub
The message on the wall reads "The expert in anything was once a beginner!" and ahead of preparing his first Budget, a crucial pre-election one at that, Minister for Finance and Fianna Fáil Deputy Leader Jack Chambers TD visited the Revamp 3Rstore and EDI Centre Longford yesterday (Monday, September 9).
Minister Chambers was highly impressed, "The @EDIandRevamp in the heart of the Longford community is a incredible hub for training, education, enterprise and innovation which is contributing so much to the local & circular economy. Great to visit and learn all about the range of programmes being provided there."
Accompanied by Joe Flaherty TD, Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Mark Casey and Cllr Garry Murtagh, the Revamp 3Rstore availed of the the opportunity to highlight their dedication to the circular economy and a comprehensive strategy for Just Transition and climate action.

Minister Chambers took a tour of the circular initiatives and witnessed Revamp’s comprehensive efforts to cut carbon emissions through the retail furniture store, wood workshop, upholstery space, Paint Reuse and furniture paint workshop, Sew and Revive project, and the home appliance repair programme.

Longford County Council were also present for the Minister's visit, as funding of €23,154 was successfully approved under the Community Climate Action Programme fund for the EDI Centre and Revamp 3Rstore for the purchase of a biodigester, boosting EDI Centre and Revamp 3Rstores sustainability initiatives.
A special thank you was extended to Linda Beirne, the Community Climate Action Officer, and the Longford County Council Department of Environment, Climate, and Communications for their cooperation in making this happen.

Prior to visiting Revamp, Minister Chambers attended a Budget 2025 breakfast briefing in the ’98 Hall, Ballinamuck where he addressed business and community leaders.
He outlined that a key focus in Budget 2025 and for the next decade will be ensuring balanced regional growth by supporting enterprise, increasing competitiveness and investing in public services.
