Fianna Fáil Longford-Westmeath TD Joe Flaherty has given his thumbs up to the addition of a new technology laboratory for Mercy Secondary School in Ballymahon.

 

Commenting on the announcement Deputy Flaherty said: "This is all down to the hard work by Principal Josephine Donohue and Deputy-Principal Gary Kenny, the progressive south Longford school will be enhanced with these new facilities, benefiting students and teachers alike".

17-year-old Melissa O’Kane from Ardagh has been included in the Republic of Ireland U-19 Women’s soccer squad to compete in a mini tournament in Portugal next week.
