Longford student celebrates 'obtaining a magnificent 613 points' in Leaving Certificate

A Longford student who obtained 'a magnificent 613 points' in the Leaving Certificate has been congratulated on her achievement.

Ardscoil Phádraig, Granard posted their best wishes to Rachel Higgins, who was also the 2025 Home Economics Student of the Year award winner at the school, on social media. 

Rachel's next step is to study Accounting and Finance at DCU. 

In their Facebook post Ardscoil Phádraig wrote;

"While the beginning of a new school year brings an air of excitement for what is to come over the coming months, it also provides a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the many accomplishments of our students throughout the year just past.

"We begin by congratulating Rachel Higgins who was announced as our 2025 Home Economics Student of the Year award winner at this year's awards evening.

"Rachel’s long list of accolades was further added to in recent weeks as she also emerged as our highest achieving Leaving Certificate student, obtaining a magnificent 613 points in this years State Exams.

"Rachel’s fantastic achievement was closely followed by a number of other students and we congratulate our entire Leaving Certificate 2025 cohort on the outstanding results obtained in our school this year.
