Investigators are trying to piece together the background to a suspected stabbing in Longford town last Friday evening.
A man in his early 20s sustained what's believed to be a single stab wound following an incident inside Longford Shopping Centre at around 6:30pm.

He was taken to Mullingar's Midland Regional Hospital shortly after for treatment to non life threatening injuries.
Gardaí are endeavouring to establish a possible motive to the alleged incident on what was a typically busy evening as shoppers made their way into and outside the centre.
One line of theory being explored is that of a local dispute involving two families.
The Leader understands both the victim, who is from the greater Edgeworthstown area, and his alleged assailant knew each other.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident unfold to make contact with them at Longford Garda Station on (043) 3350570.
Meanwhile, gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses in relation to a shooting incident where an official Garda firearm was discharged at Ferriskill on December 3.
