BREAKING: Man rushed to hospital after stabbing in Longford town

A man has been rushed to hospital this evening after being stabbed in Longford town.

The victim, who is aged in his early 20s and from the Edgeworthstown area, was allegedly stabbed inside Longford Shopping Centre shortly after 6:30pm.

He was taken to Mullingar's Midland Regional Hospital shortly after where he is currently being treated for non life threatening injuries.

Gardai have confirmed an investigation has been launched and have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at Longford Garda Station at (043) 3350570.
