Granard Farmers Mart will be the venue for a meeting entitled ‘Protecting Livelihoods’

A meeting on ‘Protecting Livelihoods’ will take place at Granard Farmers Mart on Tuesday, November 27 next at 7:45pm.

Gardaí will address the concerns of rural farmers on the night.

Granard Farmers Mart, Axa Insurance, Kiernan Milling and Paul Belton Agricultural consultant have been working closely with Granard Gardaí in relation to the planning and organisation of the information evening for the benefit of the local farming community.

The event will include three guest speakers including Sergeant Paul McDermott, Crime Prevention Officer who will speak on the subject of rural crime and farm security.

Also speaking will be Myles Reilly and Barry Clark of Axa Insurance who will inform those present about the whole issue of Farm Safety and Farm Insurance.

Kevin McManamon MSc Sports Psychology Consultant and Dublin Footballer will also speak on the night about protecting one’s Mental Health.

During the event, Gardaí will provide a ‘Check you can Tow It’ Consultation Service.

This will allow farmers to bring information on their vehicle and trailer to them and the Gardaí in turn will explain what they can legally tow.

Property Marking Demonstration Gardaí will have a property marking machine and will be demonstrating the recommended way property is marked.
