Gardaí appeal for witnesses after trains vandalised in "serious incident"

Road users and pedestrians in the area of Athlone Train Station between 4am and 6am on March 7 are urged to contact Gardaí

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after three train carriages were vandalised during the early hours of Saturday March 7 while parked up in Athlone Train Station.

Described as a “serious incident of criminal damage”, Gardaí say the incident occurred between the hours of 4am and 6am and have appealed to road users and pedestrians who were travelling in the area near Athlone Train Station between those times to come forward if they have information or camera footage (including dash cam).

Anyone with information is asked to contact Athlone Garda Station on 090 649 2600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
