St Mel's College principal Malachy Flanagan congratulating Gavin Farrelly
A Longford school is celebrating after one of its students achieved seven H1s and obtained maximum points in his Leaving Cert results.
Gavin Farrelly, a student at St Mel's College, achieved the magnificent feat and the school posted a message of congratulations to him on their Facebook page.
"We are very proud of all those who received LC results last Friday and none more so than Gavin Farrelly who achieved 7H1s and obtained maximum points.
"During his time in St Mel's Gavin played many sports and last year played on the senior gaelic panel. He was also awarded the Mel Murtagh Student of the Year Cup 2023.
"Thanks to Gavin for calling in today to meet his senior year heads Ms Farrell & Mr McWeeney and principal Mr Flanagan. Like so many of his class Gavin eagerly awaits the CAO on Wednesday.
"We wish Gavin and all of our students every success as they embark on their new adventures."
