It's back! Féile Joe Callaghan is bringing music and dance to Longford

Bring your best moves, your best talent, and come down to Edgeworthstown this weekend

Féile Joe Callaghan coming for a second year running

For the second year in a row, Féile Joe Callaghan is back in Edgeworthstown. Taking place on February 20-21, it will consist of workshops and a concert from instruments to set dancing.


To begin the Féile, there will be a 'Twaddler' session on Friday, February 20 in the Edgeworthstown Library. Taking place from 4:30-5pm, young musicians will play for toddlers, waddlers and babies who would like to join in, dance and have fun.

On Friday evening, a concert will take place in St Mary's Community Centre at 8pm. Present at this event will be Gary Curley, Stephen McKee and local music with Rachel Masterson. The concert will also feature Stephen O’Dowd. Tickets for this cost €20 via Eventbrite.


By Saturday morning, Ciorcal Gaeilge will take place in the Library from 11am-12pm. This is for those who wish to converse in Gaeilge. All are welcome, no matter what level of Irish they hold.


From 11am-2pm on Saturday, prepare for a library of workshops for fiddle, Bodhrán, banjo, piano accompaniment, flute, whistle and accordion. All workshops cost €15 each on Eventbrite. This takes place in St Mary's National School.


From 3-5pm there is a set dancing workshop, in St. Mary’s Community Centre. All tickets available on Eventbrite.

Finally, on Saturday, February 21, there is a a céilí with The Piper’s Céilí Band. This is open to all dancers across the country. Entry is €15 on the door.



There will be traditional Irish music sessions in the local pubs on both Friday and Saturday nights, where musicians are openly invited to join in.
